Nell Namreg Captured

Post by Anton Colicos »

The town crier announces to all who draw near

"This day the heretic Nell Namreg was captured by the Cearian City Guard with the help of the great Citizens of Cear. Be proud for your glorious service does not go unnoticed. With your aid a great evil has been purged from amongst us. Though her treacherous allies attempted to prevent justice from being done, Varana is victorious! Glory to the Empire and all praise to Emperor Marcus IV!"

*a young woman dressed as a priestess touches the side of her head, still sore from the near fatal blow*

"Praise Lochwar, Father Minuvas and the Guard." she whispered in her mind. "Now to find the source of corruption which created the fiend formerly known as Nell Namreg".

*she smoothed the robe flowing over her curvy hips, and suddenly looked contemptuously at a commoner staring at her with barely diguised lust. Surprised by her piercing glare, the commoner decided his beer was far more important. Satisfied with her little victory, she slowly walked into town*

*when farther minvus or any other priest visit the jail, they find a dead jail guard and an empty, cell, Nel Namreg and Pyconn Namreg have escaped*

*Witness's say Cravis Namreg was seen with them fleeing*
//Nel namreg and Pyconn Namreg are offically EOTS from my understanding

OOC:
Judging from the unknown nature of this occurence, and the parties involved

- One representing a guard of the Caer Law, and as such - it would seem unfair that you could simply meta-game escape.

- Two, I can see how Nell would seem shortened on this situation.

I will consider "Nell" and "Pyconn" in LIMBO at this time until we get a ruling from a DM as is fair. Above all , player fun, community, and roleplay is the goal of preservation.

Until we hear further, I kindly ask that no players further press or speak of Nell/Pyconn's "Capture", "Death", or "Escape" until we get such a ruling to prevent the ensuing disorder.

Thanks Everyone!

OOC: Thanks for the clarification Minuvas, you saved me the question :)

My understanding is that Enemy of the State means that the players are now hostile to all other players, guards and NPC's. This may be a problem when the default logon is the Mistyvale Inn! However I suppose it could be scripted (if not available already) that those characters who are EOTS would logon at a different location.

If EOTS is true outlaw status, then it would be a tough road for Nell and Pyconn because the world is so small at the moment. I remember a companion and myself being hunted on my old NWN server, but it a huge amount of zones, and we were only found and captured due to metagaming

I suspect that EOTS will either lead to permadeath, or a "logon, create some havoc, logoff" existence which after a while is going to get boring for all the players. Personally, I'd like to see some way of Nell of being redeemed.

*edit* Earthmother, until such time Latishe Vaine will ignore Nell Namreg and Pyconn Namreg. I'll let Stoned and Kikke know what the situation is as well.

OOC: I assume that ruling was by a DM? I'm not really sure what the procedure is in the case of EOTS, but I would have liked to have seen some 'official' notification by the Governor, than by the accused...or perhaps that is still being drafted. :)

OOC: i suggest everyone drop the dicussion, if there's a issue contact a dm and have he look on it, decideing such matters are up to the dm team, until then treat nell as you'd treat another player, simpel.
its not our stand to deal with that matter, to lock somone out before knowing the facts isnt something i'd recommend.

a dm will surely look on this soon and clarify this matter to solve this ongoing dicussion.

OOC

From what I understand, it was a staff supported decision on if Nel be allowed to escape as there was a huge debate on what course of action would be taken against her when she was captured. Nel has chosen a course of action that has made her an Enemy of the Empire.

Now, unfortunately we do not have a system for true player played EoS in place. So at this moment it means Nel and Pyconnn have no protection from the laws, can be attacked at any time by any player. I would hope both players would not flaunt themselves about town and actually RP being outlaws. I will be watching and if I see such bold arrogance of assuming there will be no punishment if caught , don't complain when a group of Talon warlords take you into custody.

Players we are also asking you all to RP responsibily. The guards have very little tools in place to do their jobs. While having outlaws in game does add excitement, right now content does not support this and we do not have the time or the energy to be in game babysitting and making judgment calls.

Nel has stated she understands that continued aggression against the Empire could result in the death of her character or at the least imprisonment (character would be effectively taken out of game) until we get a real EoS system in place.

I suggest that Nel and Pyconn be treated as dangerous fugitives from the law. IF an attempt to capture them takes place, I firmly suggest players involved set a few ground rules as to what does and does not consititue a capture then abide by those terms. If fun can be had by all this could be a good RP opportunity.

A ghostly form kneels outside the former cell of the Namreg captives. Careful not to disturb the prints, he makes mental note of their shapes and numbers.

*Hmm…the Captain, the Inquisitor, and what looks like a guard’s prints as well*

The ghostly form stands, and silently moves to the stairs.

*Perhaps there is a report to read in the guardsmen’s papers that would tell me who this “witness” was…*
