That's pathetic, people that stupid shouldn't be able to have children.

How do they expect to survive in a D&D campaign? :P

I guess the article is more about parental negligence regarding video games rather than D & D, I just find it interesting that 'Dungeons & Dragons' is even mentioned. It's also interesting that usually the video game addiction stories involve the kids, not the parents.

The dorks have truly taken over.

Police said hospital staff had to shave the head of the girl because her hair was matted with cat urine. The 10-pound girl also had a mouth infection, dry skin and severe dehydration.

Something tells me this is far worse then a gaming addiction, its plain ***-Hattery.

I think that it wouldn't have mattered what hobby these two parents had taken up. They wouldn't have been fit to be parents anyways if they willingly let their children slide down. They would have found another addiction, probably.

It's not the videogames being bad, it's the will to harm others and think solely about themselves and their own pleasures that's bad.

They had food; they just chose not to give it to their kids because they were too busy playing video games
They had time to get food, just.. not..give it? fekwits. I hope the only way they get treats for the next 12 years of their prison sex lives is by tossing the salad of the wing Daddy/Mummy. Rolls a 12: *Squeals like a piggy*
I don't feel any shame, I won't apologise

A good parent teaches their kid to level their character or farm items while they are at work/outside/cleaning.

I bet all they had was Marmite. That would explain it. In that case, they must be awesome parents.

No one else think they look somewhat......unhinged? Staring eyes...pale skin....giant forehead.....I think they played Pale Masters...

Anyway it's a typical "Let's blame computer games, they can't defend themselves, but we can make them out to look bad."

I'd have to agree with you on the latter part there, but only to a certain degree. I think the parents first responsibility should be to raising that child, and then to the game and anything else secondarily. If it takes time out of their gaming schedule to go to a ball game or a park with their kids, they should definitely have put the kids first. They didn't, and that's why they're in trouble now.. trouble that could have been avoided.
