The Commodore turned back, his features devoid of expression.

"The Barracks in the Trades and Commons."

He turned back to his conversation with Myriah, dismissing the Father with a curt nod.

Latishe unencrypts the message and reads the text. Her eyes narrow at the news.

She sighs. And so it begins.

Latishe intones a silent prayer for the Order of the Diamond. Be safe for the Earthmother. Do not be drawn into the internecine squabbles. The enemies of the Varana will seek to firstly divide us, and to use our strength against us before striking with determination. Stand ready brethren, stand ready...

Vass leans nonchalantly against a nearby tree, munching on a strip of dried meat. A slow smile spreads over her face as she catches snatches of the conversation, and she views the scene with amused interest.

Kadmiel left the scene soon after the Neophytes departed.

It was not the first time the state of Varana has been provoked by Dasarians who wished for someplace better -- happier, to live in. But it was the first time he's seen them stoop to the same levels as the monster they strove to vanquish.

The irony pierced him - deeply. He feared for what's to come.

What fools.
