Carrying Quest Items
I just deleted this so I could move it over to the "Server Rules" section, but it looks like the thread is locked. So here it is again. I know that transferring quest items between characters for XP gain is against server rules, but I thought I'd ask on this one.
I'm creating a gnome wizard/crafter who is a little quite eccentric. There is a quest in later levels where you must retrieve a mechanical creature, and I was thinking of having him believe it's his familiar. Would it still be against server rules for him to have it while below the level for the quest, even if for pure RP purposes?

If its the one I think you are talking about; several of my characters have one for RP reasons.

Oh dear.
Always be afraid when Wired volunteers to "help" that way.
It usually involves someone's death [usually yours].

I look forward to it, but be prepared I may still surprise you yetDM Wired wrote:I can arrange for her to follow your characters around, sure. The Explorer wrote:Excellent so that means I can walk round with the dark angry dragon from the Two Bridges quest as a familiarDM Wired wrote:Cool by me.
Thats generally a great tip for newbie's V but you should know me better than that after 3 years. Whether my chars are big/small or powerful/weak I fear not the DM's because I am unique and our interactions are usually hilarious or interesting as long as Wired doesn't repeat a certain mistake. *quickly goes and checks his Dial-a-cleric system is still working*Vahene wrote:Oh dear.

Also V I think I have killed at least one of every DM's chars but let me check my list and try to think of the others:
DM Wired - Loads of his, keep em coming dude always fun having you around.
DM Odin - Crazy amounts of his but it's great to mess with his head
DM Frosty - Don't think I can count that high using a calculator and three cases of beer - definetly tried to out RP the other DM's though
DM Asylum - Always funny/strange killing his (usually during the RP he tries to make you think about killing stuff first and if you should do it at all)
DM Shade - Knows who's truly the Evil one out of the two of us
Wyvern - A white wolf bit the dust and *whispers* some test creatures though between you and me they killed my chars alot more often about once every 8-10 seconds.
Mealthlavion - A White wolf bit the dust and some odd creature
Falcon - Hordes of Zombies and gouls BBQ'd Mord style
DM Sabre - Proved she's not really a chiken but damn that was the most amusing night of Das baring none
DM Bionic - She definetly should have known better even when I'm trashed and I proved my point
DM Sanguinity - yep his first outting and oddly for me once on a Saturday morning as well
DM Euminedes - Yep his first time out as well
DM Artorius - Yep his first time out as well
DM Pyramidhead - hmm I am sure I have just I can't remember..... He still around?
DM Chicken little/little chicken - damn I forgot his name but I don't think I ever saw him ingame.
I think I may be missing some DM's

Pyramid Head is still around, causing mischief, and you're forgetting our new DM Zombie.

Re: Carrying Quest Items
I am still around Explorer. The npc's of mine that you killed were not geared for your level. Is it really that much fun killing level 8 NPC's with a level 20 character?
If I really wanted to smoke your characters I am sure I could come up with something but that isn't the way I play. *Besides I bet Dwarves really smell bad when they are rolled in paper and lit on fire.* Hey pass the stubby pal.

Re: Carrying Quest Items
DM Zombie ah thats right he was in the same time as Euminedes so it could have been either or both.
As always I look forward to our next encounter.
Glad you remembered though I doubt at lvl 8 it was killing more like mashing up pawns for a bloody cocktail and no not to much fun when there that easy I generally prefer a challenge. I am sure Lorval can beat any of your appropriately lvl'd creations before it/they could set him on fire and I got more than a Dwarf at my disposalDM Pyramid Head wrote:I am still around Explorer.
