new player with a problem

Hello yes i'm new just got back to pc games and found i had NWN2 installed only have the main game so not many options but no offense yours looks great after reading all the info up.

Now to the issue when i try to create a character even just a basic fighter with dodge/ toughness it tells me i have an invalid feat.

full character make up is:

Dwarf - Shield
fighter
feats, dodge/toughness
stats
str: 16
dex: 14
con: 18
int:12
wis:10
cha:6 (reason always drunk unless something stops him and constantly had a heavy stink of ale and sweat, he dislikes bathing)

Can anyone even see an issue with this to give an invalid feat?

Which expansions, if any, do you have installed?

And is there anything in your override folder?

Which background feat did you take? (e.g., Veteran, Wild Child, etc)?

I'm guessing that you have no expansions and and its because you are trying to take an MOTB/SOZ feat at character creation, but we'll see.

I second deleting everything in your override folder. Make sure the hak folder is empty too. Ed: HAK should be OK, you don't want to download all our HAKs again anyway, it's a big download the first time out.

no expansions, yet planing to get NWN2 gold and give this cd key to a bud who got bored of nwn1

nothing in override but yes i did take veteran that might be my issue hmm i'll retry with none

I'll bet that's it. A minor annoyance, and probably only an issue at character creation time. Some people have had a similar problem with characters created under SOZ, but when they try to connect with an OC or MOTB client, the character shows invalid. The server knows these characters as being valid and does not require any expansions, so it must be something client-side.

To be safe, pick a background feat that appears in your manual. "Bully" is very similar to "Veteran." Since you're a high-CON fighter-type and will already have good Fortitude, you might consider "Devout" which will increase your Will.
