And yes, my character is a Cleric, but I am more than happy to party up with with anyone (as long as it makes sense IC) and to just buff and heal. Also easier to drink my beer when buffing and healing

You drink beer while playing? Well, that explains a lot
I once made that mistake while i still played WoW.... I was in a dungeon with a party and managed to pull the whole instance after us a couple of times, and therefore ended up in the ignore list of many players. Ah.... those were the times....
I mostly just log out, since i don't usually have the patience to find new "friends for my char". That or i'll log with another char and seek to party up with newbs / other low-level characters. Or then i'll make a new character for that.

Lately it's been a draw between option 1 and 3.
I enjoy group RP the most, but it seems few people stay below level 10 for long, which makes consistent grouping with the same characters a bit of a problem, given my rather constrained playing time. The choice of a character wasn't exactly conductive to party forming, either
Standing around the town waiting for something to happen is, to be honest, only fun when I'm in a reading mood.
I can still skulk around the wererat area alone for some coin and the odd experience point, but from what I saw from Bugbears, as soon as that place closes up for me solo times are over... and Chia can be, I imagine, rather straining for others.
For all that's it worth, though...
I like me

Tongue-in-cheek, written from the perspective of an older char (with sincere love!)
New options:
* Go sneak around one of the few remaining places you can still access and pretend you are fighting instead of hiding from all the scary monsters that are certain to tear you apart w/o your friends to back you up
* Have one-sided localchat conversations with NPCs (especially if playing after a night out drinking) within earshot of large groups of strangers
* Wait around for encumbered lower level chars to abandon their loot because it is too heavy and then sell it to that crook Ealdon because there is nowhere you can get gold anymore.
* Approach newbs and send them on imaginary quests for small amounts of GP
* Accost and attempt to proselytize strangers with your imaginary religion. Verbally harass them if they fail to renounce their beliefs and recognize you as the one true prophet.
* Test various combinations of equipment and spells on goblins and unsuspecting wildlife
* Keep detailed records of all the things that are broken and wrong about archery in NWN2; You know, like the level 16 archery-specialized ranger with feats out the wazoo and a +3/+5 mighty longbow that only hits for 2hp damage
* Read the manual and the ‘net; Discover all the ignorant mistakes you made in advancing your character.
* Make up a story about something you wish you and your friends would have done if they’d been logged in tonight and post it on the forum
* Write up and post your CHARACTER BIO to the forum:
viewtopic.php?t=1461&highlight=
* Spend 100’s of hours learning the toolkit and creating vast and complex modules that just might be soloable given your character’s strange combination of classes.
* Work on a new character, learn about all the new quests that have come into the game since the last time you came up the ranks
* Harry the DM’s for special favors and treatment
* Log off and log back in as your cleric

Now stop reading my PMs.

my choices are one then two in that order. If there aren't many folks on there'll be less crashes so its a good chance for my character to solo, and then as the game fills up I'll move to a more occupied area for some rp. I will be doing a lot more rp when the PW crashing issues are resolved.
I hate it when you're just developing a good rp situation and one of the participants just vanishes, especially when its me. It can take me 15 minutes to get back IG, and you cant expect other players to hang around that long.

Ditto.

1 or 2, depending on how it feels

I will always prefer to group with friends before the other choices. But my choice if nobody on would be 1, 2, 3 or 4 depending on my mood, if anything interesting is going on in town (RP-wise), and if there is another character requiring crafting services.

I usually solo, because I like the challenge. Often I'll spend an hour, die a few times, and not really progress at all when it comes to net XP or Gold gain. But I had fun, so who cares??

Well I am brand new here but I have to say I am very pleased with the number of total strangers that are willing to approach my character and just start to RP with her. I think that is awesome. Particularly since she is a rouge and will have a hard time soloing.

Soloing usually ends up with me being either a) killed or b) too cautious so the mobs I need are wiped out by someone more combat oriented.
RPing is often difficult, as there really aren't too many standing around North Caer when I play.
When that option fails, I run around trying to find quests until I crash.

That's because some brand-new areas have just opened up. When the novelty wears off, North Cear will again be the cool place to be.

Hang around popular town spots seeking RP with players you don't know and swindle them for their coin.
