Loving your creation Wyv, it looks great, the boat is somewhat reminisant of the good old Mary Rose :D

Sabre pops in often to mess with us more frequently recently and it's good fun, Falcon has been around too.

Players often have created things to do. My Current Chars outleveled the majority of the quests available some time ago so meet up with old adventuring friends to Rp with or find something else to do. Yes we all want DM's to be ingame to experience some DM interaction with them and I count myself lucky for the amount of times I have been ingame when a DM event has happened. I have zero patience so try to keep busy coming up with things to do as I love it in Das but am aware of the troubles the DM's are having with having to fix everything all the time due to no fault of their own.

I don't know how you think it's stagnent at lvl 11 because you still have the Monastry, the Tower and My favourite the Orc's to do. I agree that there are some parts going slowly but many changes/improvements have been made, I won't say be patient but I will recommend you find a group of players to do something with or plan a Player driven event or create a new character. If you are finding it too easy then try the quests out weiding a magic spoon.

- The festival; performances by bards etc and even a drunken warrior.
- Tournament
- BBQ or beerfestival of Varana
- Misty Inn drinking contest number 101; sorry I started doing them from day one.

Don't Burnout the Wyv

Patience is good. In the right measurements.

There's a lot of talk about patience here, but it all comes from older players. I guess what I'm trying to get across is that newer players don't have the memories you Das1 guys have to hold on to. No solid Dasaria-campaign experience, and as such no concrete reason to hang about when other servers are already in full gear. They'll just leave, eventually, because there's only so much they can build on without an active server-encompassing cause to take them forward.

I'm not urging for "MORE DMz NOW PLZ" or anything like that. I don't believe in DMs holding the players' hands. That only ever happens in servers where the DMs push forward that philosophy, and Dasaria definitely doesn't strike me as that kind of server. But if we want serious, player-driven plots that make an impact in order to take the server forth we need some push, some drive - however vague - from the powers-that-be. An état-d'être for the factions, for the guilds, for the players - something to work towards to. It doesn't need to be much and it doesn't need to be often. It doesn't even need to take place in-game! There is enough evidence that Dasaria1's evolution was largely the players' handiwork themselves.

Let me clarify: Dasaria is not all doom-and-gloom right now, far from it. But there is a general feeling of unused potential, that this can grow to be so much more. I'm sure the DMs want time to prepare, and I'm sure the veterans are willing to wait. I don't want to convey any sort of pressure upon the staff and I'm sorry if that's how it comes off. But some of us really just want to start and get on with the game.

I'm hoping whatever Sabre's up to right now is indeed part of that. But to be brutally honest - from the POV down here, it seems like he/she is a lone soldier on the battlefield.

NWN2's DM client may be difficult right now, but it is manageable. It's not even a necessary tool to get things moving, either. Let's get this off the ground. Please?

Just incase you mistakenly put me in the Das 1 veteran sociaty, I would like to advise you that.

Das 2 is the only PW or platform internet multiplayer game of any kind that I have ever played to-date.

Sabre's Talon was getting bossed around by Falcons Talon the first 2 times I saw them FYI

Wyv, Melth & Falcon are busy creating areas etc but I know they like to pop ingame to play with the Community and I even heard a rumor that they have normal Chars but very rarely get time to play them.

From what I have been told; You never know that Char sticking a blade into could be Jeh playing his char!

That's not a proper reason not to stick a blade into 'em anyway.

Player != Character.

Just to add in, though I have been around for a few months now in Das2, I never played Das1 before.

I have tried using the tool set, only to find I would rather gut myself with a rusty spoon than spend time with it in it's present condition.

Having come to NWN very late in it's history, it is also my understanding that NWN1 was in a similar condition of unstable and poor system design until the community (players) fixed it with the CEP after the last "official" boxed expansion came out from the publisher.

Frankly, I think it's a real pity that Obsidian didn't make the effort to use the knowledge and free work available to them from NWN1 player community, basically junking all the fixes and changed, then going back to the unpatched original publication of the game and starting their work from there.

Looking at all of that, and then logging into Das2 to see this beautifully crafted world with an eye towards group interaction, I tell myself, 'I think I can wait.'

Well on a quick scan through I didn't see this mentioned:

The DM client as I understand it for NWN2 isn't all that good. In 1.07 ( next patch ) Obsidian should be improving it, vastly I hope. This should lead to better DM --> PC interaction.

fekit - nice long msg eaten by the forum monster, bah. so to summarise:
hate game, love Das, will be back when the former stops spitting on the later.
I don't feel any shame, I won't apologise

I think we can all help out Dasaria by continuing to be a supportive contributive community base.

Not only with lore, plots, and stories - but I know some of us are experience Toolsetters.

Sirius has personally done some work for me that I hope finds its way in a few PWC's down the road.

I believe the World-Builders have always showed expressed thanks for these sorts of World-Contributions.

The reason why Dasaria has stagnated is because Jehannum is off doing other things.

That isn't to say that the remaining members won't step up in the future, but that is the primary reason for the change in momentum.

I am also a patient player who eagerly anticipates the time when the campaign kicks into full gear. Alas, RL stuff trumps online RPing games every time (for most of us anyway).

I think we as the player community should not feel hamstrung by the perceived lack of content. We should see this as an opportunity to do any of these sorts of things:

- Story/plotline development
- Community-based events (e.g., tournament, crafting guild events, treasure hunts, other types of events)
- Faction forming and organizing
- Crafting practice
- Honing PvP skills in small group sessions
- Casting high-level spells to populate the landscape with horned devils (oh wait, we shouldn't do that one...nm)

I mean, the longer we wait for something to be "delivered" to us for our gaming consumption, the more we will be missing the boat on the real value of Das2 - player initiated stuff.

Then of course there is the Toolset, which may be worth learning if you can get up to speed with it and create some new stuff for possible inclusion into the PW.

There is pllenty to do while we wait for the new stuff from the world builders. Good luck with it and hopefully you will find that elusive patience that you attributed to those who played Das1.

I seem to come and go in this game, when i first bought NWN 2 and after i beat the SP campaign (of course ;p) I checked out the multiplayer, although i did play NWN 1 i didn't play it much so i had little-no experience with PW's and RP'ing.

Well I was very disappointed with just about every server i had joined until I came upon Dasaria, which got me hooked instantly... and although i usually enjoy the PvP aspects of MMO's, I liked the RP'ing part of this game and the people on the server made it more interesting and dynamic somehow. Also the world just seems to be built fairly well. (Plus I know eventually in full PvP games there's goin' to be some cool fights to get in on or watch although i wish they were more random/spontaneous in RP ;p)

The only thing I wish this server had was more of ME, because i feel i'm not active enough ! :p

Also vampires/more undead, we can never have too many undead legions with Necromancer/Vampire Mages leading to dispose of in my opinion!

I have to say that yesterday's event with Bionic was freakin fun. I wasn't enjoying it at first because it seemed like the server was lagging and by the time I got to the scene, all the bad guys were dead. But once we got inside the Bugbear cave, even with the whole server in there, it didn't run slow and was a blast. Kudos.
