Sorry Vahene I was either on my way home from work or taking care of my little girl. However, I feel you are both right and I could always chip in with examples on how I play Rhode but the original poster doesn't know that character yet but if you see Rhode around a paladin you get for sure that he is up to something. Usually he picking on them trying to get them to react or he is watching them as I am sure both of you have noticed.

Rhode will follow laws such as keeping the weapons sheathed in town because he just doesn't want the hassle it brings him. He also wont hesitate to attack a polymorphed character who is in town as he can always lie and claim that he thought it was some sort of monster attacking the town. (I suppose that last example could be LE as he is taking advantage of the law which is true but he real purpose is just to attack the individual with no real gain for him with the exception of attacking them.

Despite all this I think we can agree that Rhode is insane with brief and very dangerous bouts of sanity where he realizes what he is doing is wrong and just doesn't care.

I played a CE character once, he wasn't well known, but to those that knew him... He was just plain evil. He actually started off true neutral, but he slow grew insane and became sadistic, and devoted to a single goal. He didn't care what, or who died in his way as long as his goal was accomplished. In the end this got him killed, but thats another story altogether.

However, past the very chaotic nature of that halfling, a chaotic or a evil character isn't neccesarily viewed as such by other people. I have a character that is chaotic neutral, but he has had people say that he is a nice guy. Hes had a Cleric of a good god say that he was too nice to murder someone. But he doesn't follow laws, in the sense that he is willing to kill someone that is irritating. Hes also been known to have weapons drawn, or use hostile magics in the city. However, he is also methodical enough,to pay attention to his surroundings, and not to get caught.

My point is, that being chaotic doesn't neccesarily mean you are truly after then end of law and order, just as being evil doesn't mean being truly after the end of all that is good. All alignments are in the eyes of the beholder. What one person may perceive as evil, another may think is acceptable. A good example is the banned gods. One that worships Rel may think it perfectly right, and maybe even their duty to pay homage to Rel, but others, especially Lochwarians would find them heretical, thus chaotic from the standard set of laws.

Alignment discussion aside it is difficult to impossible to solo in Dasaria. A character made to solo would find it difficult. Any normal randomly generated character made for the sake of roleplay would find it impossible, most likely. Dasaria encourages group play. That's just how it is, and how it likely will be. This has it's ups and downs just like anywhere.

I suggest you put any loner-style character (or player) playing aside and try to join in with others. Cause that Chaotic Good druid who your character would rather like to never have anything to do with might also play an evil wizard that your character would fall in love with.

Eventually you'll meet like-minded characters. Or some with abilities you can exploit to be able to finish a single quest. Whatever have you. And make friends to do quests with. It's difficult when you don't know anybody, difficult moreso when your character (or you as a player) tends towards soloing, or just likes to get some things done on their own.
