Frowning at Will’s question, Chia lightly tossed the sealed envelope, landing it on the table by the man's hand.
“Great. That’s the thanks I get after all the effort just to get here. People almost died so it happened, you know?”
She pauses for a moment, thoughtfully.
“Eh. Not that they knew of it, anyway. Still, it’s kind of funny watching a dwarf in full plate trying to run away from a bunch of really obnoxious bats. Almost forgot to run myself.”
She grins at the memory, then turns her attention back at Will.
“Anyway, what’s the big deal with ‘boo-hoo death note?’ How should I know? Did you promise that priestess anything? Hah, doubt, the way she looked when asked to get it over to you!”
She laughs, an expression of great enjoyment and amusement at the situation. Turning to Noa, one of her orange-pupiled eyes closes in a meaningful wink at the woman.
“You would not believe what I think happened…”
She shifts her position slightly, facing Noa while still keeping an eye on Will’s expression.

Will took another sip of his spiced tea, eyed the letter for a moment and huffed at Chia. "Easy, gal. So it's for me, huh." He set the empty cup down before picking it up the envelope, turning it in his hands. Yet to give a word of thanks, William's face became thoughtful and he unceremoniously broke the seal, unfolding the parchment plainly before him.

Taking a small step forward, Chia shifted closer to Will, trying to peek over his shoulder at the content of the letter.
Her nostrils flared as she attempted to, unsuccessfully, detect the suspected whiff of perfume from the letter.
She leaned forward, trying to read the perfectly shaped lettering unfolding in Will's hands.
"So? What's she saying?"

"I'm surprised you don't know already. Forging seals not a part of our teifling's repertoire?"
Will smiled to himself and furrowed his brows as he leaned forward to read the fancy writing, his mouth moving silently as he glanced over his shoulder. Clairvoyant slanted eyes met orange hues with slitted pupils as he waited patiently. "Could I read it first, without the pair of looming horns floating around my back?"
He squinted at Chia and rolled his eyes, but his lips curled into a cheshire smirk when he turned away. The letter was cordial and brief, the contents of which were hardly worth the risk of delivery in his own opinion. It just made the morning that much more amusing.

The pupils of her eyes narrowed as Chia frowned, the expression wrinkling the malleable scar tissue covering majority of the left side of her face.
“Actually, no, it’s not. And even if I wanted to, I did not. Thanks for noticing.”
Whirling around angrily, she started stomping toward the door.
“Read your cursed letter alone, then. Not like maybe I was staying in case you needed a reply delivered.”
She shoved the door open, hard, ignoring the glare Gregory was sending her back at such a mistreatment of his property.
The light of new day seeped in through the door, its angle elongating the horns of her shadow.

With a loud sound, Noa closed the dusty window, giving up on any future similar attempts to get the stained glass clean. She then stretched her arm, reaching for the door before it closed following Chia's departure. She entered the Inn with slow steps and the cosy heat emanated from the fireplace gave her a slight goosebump of pleasance, which reminded her of a certain someone. She then walked over to the fireplace amd kneeled down. The heat warmed up the cold tips of her fingers as Noa wondered in a mutter: "I wonder if Pochi still has any business 'round there..."

*As Noa kneeled down, a small black cat leapt from a drawercabinet. Agile and grafecul it landed on all four feet, shook its head in a short daze and quickly restored the queenlike attitude. The cat sat for a few seconds, then strode closer to Noa to stroke her leg with its thick, black fur. With its nose up in the air and its tiny eyes to slits, it demanded attention in between the comfortable warmth of the fire and the redhaired (as a cat would say it) soon-to-be-slave.*
Noa arched an eyebrow to the cat who had just startled her with the sudden demand for attention. With her hand, she pushed her red locks from her eyes, looking down to the animal with curiousity. The black fur slightly tensed her, reminding her of the superstitious beliefs some folk had. With the same hand, she patted the creature's head and sighed, cocking her head for in deep thought for a brief momen. A frowned eyebrow suggested a feeling of annoyance, perhaps at her own previous curiosity on a certain individual's current doings or simply at her own: "Hop it now.", she said to the cat in a whisper as she motioned her hand back and forth, instructing the animal to leave as if it were a rational person.
Her frowned eyebrow remain unchanged for a moment as Noa eyed the cat. Then, Noa finally evinced a corner grin resulted from the animal's actions, patting the feline's head somewhat roughly: "Well, ain't ya a rum lil'fellow...", she chuckled. Sadly, she did not notice the growing fire reaching one of her loose sleeves, finding quickly its way to her elbow.
She wrinkled her nose from a new scent in the air...

*The eyes of the cat grew fast, with the speed of a brick being thrown off a roof. Its nostrils flared up and it crouched back from the fire. The further it crouched back, the louder its rumbling in the stomach and the louder the soft growling it hissed at the fire became. Then, one could have missed it how fast it was done, but the cat grew in length, in width, grew clothes out of thin air and to add to this already peculiar situation; it suddenly gained a rather harsh voice which demanded;
"By the mother, you hear me out. It's not -your- turn to play, it's -mine-! Get back, leave her alone. Hear me, this Priest of Iaosia, and obey!"
"By the mother, you hear me out. It's not -your- turn to play, it's -mine-! Get back, leave her alone. Hear me, this Priest of Iaosia, and obey!"
The girl's jaw dropped in surprise. Instinctively, she jumped back during the feline's metamorphose, hitting one of the drawercabinets. In addition to the "werecat's" sudden gain of a horse, human voice, the urn located just above Noa fell, it's ashes precipitating on her head and shoulder, exterminating the fire she had yet to notice. As if aforethought, a strong gush of a cold wind infiltrated the Inn from a not correctly closed window, spreading the ashes in their vertical trajectory over all the room.

*A moment of silence. Another one. Then a soft sneeze sounded.*
"...Thank you for your cooperation..."
*Aswaith sneezed a second time. His face, his robe was covered with a thin layer of grey dust and a scowl at the scene betrayed he was everything but pleased with the outcome of this little event. After a moment of reconsideration that look dropped however, to make room for a rather startled look as he rushed to aid Noa.*
"...Are y-.. You d-.. wait. Can I help you with that?.." he carefully began, cocking his head as he carefully attempted to calculate the damage done.*
