Yea, bad choice of words. Just came as a bit of a surprise, when I tried to solo the trolls....Wyvern wrote:I've watched people solo the same areas they could with the old potions, using a combination of the new potions and heal kits/wands etc. And the old potions are still available remember. Just because it is harder, it doesn't mean you are screwed.
New, custom healing potions are now being used

I guess my main thing is that I don't really like the new potions. I don't actually mind losing the old ones -- even though I didn't know you could buy Potions of Cure Critical Wounds until a few days before this change -- because this places a huge emphasis on crafting, team play, etc. It's just that I don't think I'll use the new potions anyway (unless really forced to), and I think there may be others like me. I'll just end up buying or making a wand of Cure Critical Wounds and be done with it.
I'm sorry if I sound too critical, but if the vast majority of players will just craft alternatives and not use the new potions anyways, it kind of begs the question of why we have them available anyway.
Of course, there may be people who really like the new change.

I don't exactly mind that the healing potions changed. I do mind dying however, and can't seem to hunt either undead or elementals now without doing so at least once. Being only 3k (originally) from level 7, well, that does frustrate me quite a bit--and if I can't even survive against something that only gives me 7 exp a pop, I'm not even crazy enough to try Kalem where I know I could get that 3k in one blow.
Just seems to have made it much harder for me, from a soloists pov.

I know this thread has gone on for a long time, but I was thinking about it again today...
I wonder if we should keep Cure Light Wounds potions in stores, mostly just for the new players? People that try the server out for the first time probably won't understand the healing Elixers. But if they can buy potions of Cure Light Wounds, they'll know exactly what they're getting.

I think there's some validity to this. If they're the only normal potions available, it's not going to be very unbalancing, AND it will help players who are new to Dasaria get started before instantly having the WTF factor of unfamiliar potions. Just my two cents.ErictheRed wrote:I know this thread has gone on for a long time, but I was thinking about it again today...

Why would they heal you when they can solo anything you can, and more?Gildren wrote:I just hope to see some cleric players healing, instead of extreme self buffing and soloing even more than they already do...urgualamand wrote:This is very good newsThis makes the clerics healing seem more like an instant blessing, where the potions will have a kind of drink and enjoy the healing feel to them
Hope it works out as it sounds.. Awesome in every aspect!

I use the new potions all the time AND I use a wand of Cure Critical on rare occassions that I NEED a quick heal. Most of the time the regen potions are fine. I suppose it depends on AC and the BAB of the mobs in question. But with 37+ ac I think the regen pots are very useful.

I've just got to say that someone i know is VERY upset about the change to potions,in fact its totally devastated his once profitable business to the point where rarely does anyone even stop by! he went from making one hundred plus emperors a day to a measly three or four...
I beg you to help the poor little guy out,hes desperate and since he can niether read nor write(im barely able myself i know) i came here for him.
So anyone with heavy pockets and a kind heart (or anyone wishing to sell questionable items) stop by and give ol' Ram "fourfingers" Turnbolt some much needed business.

Rams sells the cure critical potions that i use everyday, and i spend a bit more than 400 crowns on them too :)ReverendRedrum wrote:I've just got to say that someone i know is VERY upset about the change to potions,in fact its totally devastated his once profitable business to the point where rarely does anyone even stop by! he went from making one hundred plus emperors a day to a measly three or four...

Well you can bet they won't be there the next time Wyv looks at the toolset, good find Lono!
I'm always right. I'm also a jerk. It's not my fault you can't get over the latter to see the former.
