I'm one of those people who loves to come up with something unique, so I've always enjoyed the PrCs (and "kits" in the old days). I have to admit, though, as a rule PrCs are weaker than "pure" classes. They make up for it with interesting and varied skills, but for the standard challenges of combat, traps and dealing with damage, they usually suffer, IMO.
There are some exceptions, however. I hear that Cleric with a couple levels in WP and maybe Paladin or Divine Champion is very effective. Weapon Master smiters in NWN1 were always a force to be reckoned with, particularly for PvP.
Even though I usually play spellcasters, Clerics in particular, this time I decided to try a new PrC: Berserker. I've never played an unalloyed warrior type (i.e., no spellcasting, no Rogue) before. I started with Fighter for the feats and switched to Zerk as soon as I could. So far I'm very pleased. I'm going to switch to Weapon Master next and the combination should be very effective. Not quite as good as smiter WMs in PvP, but better at PvE, I think, than a smiter.

Socrate's,
I'm also one of those people who likes to think up interesting builds. The PrC's in NWN2 are very good; there is literally something for everyone. However I'm hoping that the NWN2 expansion would actually allow us to play some of the other core classes from the "Complete' books such as the Spirit Shaman, Hexblade and Scout.
The Explorer,
good to know
The weekend is nearly here so its time for me to get online and start experiencing Dasaria II in all its glory.
