Masquerade Ball - Interest Check

I've been lightly toying with the idea of having a masquerade ball, but I'm not too certain how many people (and, importantly, how many characters) would show up to that sort of thing.

Some Ideas:
○ Formal attire and masks
○ Formal dancing
○ Needs bards!
○ Probably will need money, because a ball in the Mistyvale just isn't quite a ball...
○ Will occur in the night at some time
○ the aim: to temporarily make attendants forget about their stress and enjoy a night
○ Refreshments will be provided, but I don't think the idea is to get smashed.

Taking all comments and suggestions. This idea is in its infancy...

I think I've been there, in the TnC. But, it seems unfinished. What is this place?

Don't know. But I'm sure whoever owns it could be persuaded to rent it for a night. I'm sure the DMs have some other areas they'd be willing to use as well. I've seen some amazing zones during DM events these last few years that aren't part of the normal server.

Edit: Also NURK COME, SING FOR YOU

Artisan will attend barring a real life scheduling conflict and a few hours spent "slinking in unpleasant places" should result in enough funding for the event.

Based on my experience with the "War Fair" I have some suggestions...
  • 1. Determine who will be hosting the event. If you don't have another character in mind, you can draft Artisan.
    2. Pick a date and time then start spreading the word. Advance publicity, especially via word of mouth, is important.
    3. Don't assume that people understand time zones. :) Be sure to list common time zones for timing of the event. I'd say US EST, CST, MST, PST and European GMT & CET along with one Australian time zone at a minimum.
    4. Sounds like this can be an all level event so lower level characters may not have funds for proper attire. Perhaps Willow could host pre-ball costume fitting sessions. Artisan can pay for these. Could be fun to roleplay and would help provide information about who plans to attend.
    5. Count on your friends. You've already received more feedback that I did for the "War Fair". Based on this I'd say "Go for it" and know that your friends will back you up. :D
Please post here, PM me, or catch me in game if I can help. You have my full support, especially if this gets Fyvre into a dress with earrings and high heels.

Clothes can be purchased from the Singing Seamstress. Customizations can be done using the item changer in the Ironbacks. Its pretty cheap to change out parts on normal clothes and base armours.

Aye, you should be able to get a full outfit for under 100 gold, including matching boots, gloves and a fancy mask.
