How can you tell if you've gone insane?

It's when you start thinking everyone else is insane. Mostly because majority rules in those kind of things.
I'm always right. I'm also a jerk. It's not my fault you can't get over the latter to see the former.

Hurray for Me!

Topic titles are like turn signals. They aren't for your benefit, but for the people around you.

Short answer, you can't. Not without the help of a professional.

If you think you're insane though, good chances you aren't.

Ask someone close to you if you've done anything you weren't aware of that seemed, well... weird.

Why do you ask, sweet pea?

A severe mental disorder, with or without organic damage, characterized by derangement of personality and loss of contact with reality and causing deterioration of normal social functioning.
Sounds like roleplayers.

Mental illness can take alot of forms and the severity varies alot. Some are temporary, caused by enviromental factors such as stress, the types of food you eat. It could be the person you are conserned about has alot of emotional issues they are not dealing with, and just need an ear to let it out, or talk it through with.

I'd suggest they talk to a school counsellor, priest if they're religous, or even a close friend/parent.

In my point of view, everyone is insane and I'm the only normal person.

From another point of view I realized that I might be a little more eccentric then other people because I bite people when I actually want to say hello.
(mostly in the shoulder) BUT that isnt wierd ... right ? and now the punchline !

"There is a pleasure, sure, In being mad, which none but madmen know!"

If you hear voices other than your own..
If the voices tell you to do something you normally wouldn't..
..you might want to talk to a psychiatrist or psychologist.

Most people that are insane, don't know they are.

Serial killers don't have consciences for the most part, thus, most people consider them insane for doing the horrific acts they have done. ( I did a paper on this in HS) ...you have mass murderers who say they're insane, and quite frankly, I'd agree you'd have to be somewhat insane to do some of these things.

If you have any doubt as to your sanity, I would talk to someone you trust. It isn't an issue to be taken lightly at all.

I might play an insane character or three, and have in the past, but I have the utmost respect for mental disorders.
