Seek out Tesgol Sharpbrair, the halfling with dirty-blonde hair, sideburns, and blue eyes. Will hire a smith to construct a mithral suit if the price is right.

i seem to recall someone *caughs* obsidian probably, messed up the mithral chain shirt somehow, since it still has 10% arcane spell failure and mithral breast plate has only 15% . Not sure if i'm right about the fact mithral chain shirt should have none but that would be rather obvious. A tip i can give you though is to put some skills in Use magic device, so you can use monk robes instead. good luck

I don't think that any armor is supposed to have 0% spell failure. You'd need to be a warlock or a bard to be able to wear light armor withaut the chance of failure.

A mithril chain shirt should have 0% failure, if I'm remembering it right and if Obsidian did it right. Those are some long odds, though.

That would be odd considering that even padded armor has spell failure.

Mithril reduces the failure chance of any armor that it's made out of by 10%.
A normal chain shirt has a 10% failure rate. 10% - 10% = 0.

*coughs* Wow I actually get to correct Stormknife on a DnD rule... that is unusual (the guy is one of the people that taught me 3.5 DnD)...
SK and other, chain shirts have a base spell failure rate of 20%.
D20 SRD armor chart.
You were right about the amount mithril reduced the chance of spell failure.
D20 SRD mithral entry.
So a chain shirt should have a base 20% spell failure rate.
Reduced by 10% from mithral.
Therefore, a mithral chain shirt should have an arcane spell failure rate of 10%.

AH, that does it. I read the "Still has 10% failure" to mean that was it's normal spell failure rate. >_<
Always good to get it straight from the source.

I recommend full plate armor for every spell-caster.

You know, that won't stop the druids and clerics from killing you... it only makes them stronger.
If you mean arcanists, well... I guess we could, but would it really be any fun for you if we couldn't even fight back?

*Strokes his cheek, thinking for a second*
Yes.. yes I believe I would enjoy that. You need to feel how it's like to be on the other side of the fence a while.

pfft shows how much pere knows about magic casters. There is a little thing called Still Spell that lets you cast in any armor. It's a lot of fun, and i highly recommend it.

Does it even work right in NWN2?
