I think that's unfair, considering how smooth the game runs right now.

Thank you, Torquil, for saying in polite terms that which I could not have.

I haven't gotten it to work right since I got it.

And its not working again.

So, I call it like I see it. Sorry. It has had problems since day one. That's simply my own opinion.

I can both recognize and appreciate that, but as far as bugs go, most have been quashed, and for the majority of people, the game runs great. Depends on your hardware, of course, but that goes with any game.

aside from Transition crashes, the game is great for me. In the MOTB campaign I had some weird issues happen to me, but it was fun. I've gotten way more enjoyment out of this game than the cost of it. A lot of that has to do with Das, which the company still doesn't recognize as being a significant factor to their business.

Year to date, I've crashed 10 times out of 256 transitions. That's roughly one crash every other time I play. I don't own another piece of software that crashes that much. So, I won't be buying the expansion.

I will be buying the expansions depending on Dasaria. The money is put aside, but no need.. yet ;)

I've just accepted the crashing as part of playing Dasaria. I'd say I get it about as often as Rob does (once every other time I play) but it really doesn't bother me that much. It takes a few minutes to load the game up again and carry on from where I left off. In my opinion the worst thing is the server crashes. There's nothing more frustrating that being almost at the end of a dungeon/quest, when the server crashes and all your progress on that quest is lost.

I still think they should have just licensed either the source or unreal 3 engine and made NWN2 in that :P Both of those are flexible, efficient and graphically superior to the 'electron' engine, or whatever they are calling that obsidian hunk of crap. Oh, and not to mention as stable as a rock.

All that said, I think the good points about the game outweigh the bad. I didn't buy MoTB because of Dasaria (since Dasaria doesn't use any of the new features), and I won't be buying the new expansion for Dasaria either. I'll be buying it because I geniunely enjoyed playing through the MoTB single player. Transition/server crashes don't happen in single player anyway. I admit that the bugs are annoying, but I'm not going to deprive myself of a potentially excellent game, just because NWN2 doesn't work so well on multiplayer. Then again, I know some people seem to have it a lot worse than me, so if they don't want to buy it, then that's their choice.

I have had a few bad transition crashes in the short time I've been playing, but for some reason, just recently I've played a few times with no problems.

I loved the MotB campaign, (Gann rocks) and it is a bummer that Dasaria doesn't use the stuff from it, but I don't mind. NWN just has a great atmosphere on good servers.

I'll probably get the expansion, though not right away.

The game itself runs great and perfroms nicely. And i'm running Vista 64 which is hardly the ideal OS for it.
Btw Vahne, you could probably get it running but it would involve doing stuff if you want to know gimme a pm

Just a note, before das, I played on about 8 pws looking for a good one, and none of them had even a tenth of as many transition crashes as das does. It's a dasaria only problem apparently as far as I know, anyone got any clue as to why?

Likely because Dasaria is too good for NwN2.

I've heard other people say this, but if you look at the NWN2 persistent world forums, this is a major problem everywhere. Having said that, I experience probably 80% of my crashes through the front door of the Misty. The rest occurs mostly in transition in and out of the trades. Don't know what that means, but thought I'd throw it out there.
