Hi,

I have been following Dasaria 2 for a long time, and just last night decided to use the auto down loader to get the necessary files. There weren't many people on, and the people that were on were probably doing something else, far far away from town, hee hee :) But, mind you, I logged in to the PW at around 4AM, NYC time. :) I explored for many hours, and went into various buildings and temples, and really like the art direction, and MEDIEVAL feel of the city and it's environs. That is important to me. I made it as far as the docks in Cear.

I have a couple questions: I use Dragon's Xui user interface mod, and I think it is fantastic. However, it seems that the admins of the PW didn't give that option to it's player base. It is a very streamlined UI, and I am told you would just have to add a few files for those who would like to use it. :) In other words, people who have the UI mod can use it, and those that do not won't see any change. Dragon Xui will work with all PWs if the admins of the PW install it. Here is a link to the GUI mod for consideration: http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Nw ... tail&id=29
It will work once installed on the server. It is Hall of Fame, and a very simple cut and paste makes it work flawlessly for SOZ.

Also, I use Slider's square minimap, and that is such a beautiful replacement to the AWFUL circular minimap, which is basically useless. I would like to be able to use that, but don't know if anybody has tried it. I suggest trying it in a single player game and you will probably be won over with that. It's not a ground breaking addition, just a simple .dds file. :) In the upper left hand corner the minimap will be square, and unobtrusive, and you still have the option to bring up the larger square map, hitting "m" as well. It's wonderful. I hope the admins/DMs are open to some minor additions as these affect not in the slightest gameplay. :) I hope you give it a chance is all I am asking. The wonderful square minimap mod: http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=NW ... tail&id=87
This works flawlessly with my Xui mod. :) I urge those in single player to try it out; you will never go back. Use v.2.rar file.

I am still playing the three official campaigns, and MoW AP as of now, but will be exploring Dasaria 2 as well. I plan to make the jump permanently in a little while, and will post my RP history for my new character when the time comes. :D

This seems like I have found a good home for a PW!

One other question: I hope the Spell Resistances for Warlocks have been addressed in regards to their Spell Penetration Feats cause that system was COMPLETELY broken in all three campaigns.

Also, when I create characters, how am I to delete ones that I am no longer interested in?

I am very interested in your crafting system, and like that you use the OC method for crafting.

Best regards,

Belnor. :)

Greetings Belnor. Glad to see you like it here so far.

In regards to deleting characters, there is an NPC in the temple of nuarari, which is located in the Trades & Commons, who can make you lose levels, and also delete your character provided you choose to lose a level at level one. As for warlock spell penetration and the UI addon. I'm afraid I cannot help with those.

Greetings,

Thank you for the warm welcome Elrith. It is funny I posted about Dasaria in a thread on the main NWN2 boards before even trying it out! I confirmed to myself that the world feels and looks like it does in the screens, and video captures. This world is really fleshed out. I'm currently traversing the city district with "spoon" in hand. :)

Thank you Elrith and see you in game.

Best regards,

Belnor.

Hello and welcome.

Enjoy your stay in Dasaria.
One other question: I hope the Spell Resistances for Warlocks have been addressed in regards to their Spell Penetration Feats cause that system was COMPLETELY broken in all three campaigns.
This is an OE bug, and unless their rule has changed, the DMs do not change any feats or skills that are broken. This is a pretty well known and annoying bug, but I don't think the DMs will change it, talk to OE about it (Good luck, I think many have tried talking to OE about it... And you see the result).
I am very interested in your crafting system, and like that you use the OC method for crafting.
We use the method of crafting, yes, but not the same recipes. You'll find that for crafting magic arms/armours and crafting wonderous items that the recipes are different from in the OC. However as far as I can tell forging items, crafting wands/potions/scrolls are all the same.

Again, welcome and enjoy your stay.

Welcome to Dasaria, Belnor.

Unfortunately people can leverage custom client GUIs to exploit the system. So for that reason they are disabled.

Dasaria's staff let's OEI fix their own bugs so they can concentrate on building Dasaria. Dasaria behaves pretty much like the official campaigns, so you know what you're getting into.

I believe you can de-level your character at the Temple of Nuarari but you can kill (delete) your character at the Temple of Peralia. Information about the pantheon can be found here: viewtopic.php?f=67&t=1574.

More information on crafting can be found here: viewforum.php?f=33.

I hope you enjoy your stay, Belnor.

Oops, looks like Rob was right. You visit the temple of Peralia to delete your characters.

Hey everybody,

Thanks for the warm welcomes. Well, hopefully I can use my Xui and square minimap. It's very hard for me to play with the default UI. I don't think it will pose any threat at all, whereas in an MMO, maybe, but they even have this feature. I don't think this place will attract that kind of player, but here's hoping it gets implemented cause the default UI is awful.

Looks like I know where to delete my test character, but I think I will keep it for test run purposes. :) I am very interested in the crafting system, and might form a faction or crafting society in the future. :) I have a lot of good RP ideas for crafting. :)

The forum layout and color scheme is fantastic by the way.

Belnor.

?

Custom UI is not disabled on Das. Just make sure it's under \ui\custom\.

That or I somehow haxored it completely unintentionally.

Hi, this is great news! I have Dragon's Xui user interface in my \ui\custom folder but for some reason it isn't working. I will have to check in game.

Hi, Altharin:

Well, I went into Dasaria 2 for a test run and some 4 1/2 hours later I am writing this post. Now, that says something about Dasaria 2 to me. :) I explored to North Cear, adn met up with a couple of friendly Dwarves, and we went and had a very enjoyable RP session, and killed a couple wolves. Question: where do I go to buy a torch? I remember one NPC saying would you like to buy a torch, but that dialog has since disappeared. Also, I noticed that when an NPC goes on talking about something that the last couple sentences in the main screen overlap, as if they are delayed a little too late.

But, so far it has been quite the experience so far. :) I'm really enjoying myself. I hope the areas outside the main city and it's environs are EQUALLY as thought out in terms of art direction, and content.

Well, I have my custom ui in my override folder, along with my square minimap. However, they do not show up. I have the options menu to set things like mode bars, hotbars, etc, but they wont work. I think you have to add Dragon Xui to your server, as per the author for anybody who wants to use it and has it so it will show up in the PW. :)

I really hope you guys are flexible enough to allow us to have this. :) And, I really hope you take a look at the square minimap. That thing is amazing!

I deleted Kaedrin's PrC Pack from my override, because after I finish the three campaigns I want to have as smooth as transition to Dasaria 2 in terms of character creation, and feats choices as I can. His mod is great, but if I get too used to it I am afraid I will not enjoy character creation, one of my favorite aspects of the game, as much.

Well, my name in game is Anderlick, but that is my test character. He has around 28 gold now, and some wolf hides and a necklace. But, when I make the full transition to Dasaria 2 I will make Belnor as my main character.

Best regards and really hope you allow Dragon Xui user interface mod, adn square minimap into the game. :)

Belnor. :)

Welcome!

Please do not use overrides, of any kind, while you're on the server. I know it's fun to customize, but it's just too unpredictable what impact this can have on the server itself or others' gameplay. Yes, many things are disabled, but I'd rather people did not experiment, attempt to bypass the controls, etc. Overrides can have unintended consequences, such as excessive lag or DMs being unable to log into the server, whether or not they're doing what they're supposed to do.

I took the packages out of my override for when I log into Dasaria 2. I checked out NWN2 wiki PW section and am now well informed. I really want to see this crafting system in play, and the world is breathtaking. Really liking the RP opportunities I am getting.

See you all in Das after I finish up the campaigns!

Best regards,

Belnor.

Wow, is all I have to say. Thank you Cythis and Bliss for that nice five hour RP session. It was fantastic! Well, it's safe to say I have made Dasaria 2 my home. Look forward to meeting the rest of the family. I can't believe a a couple NPCs I met made me initiate some great RP. Thanks DMs and world builders. :D Is it my eyes or did I see a painting of Mad Dog in the tavern? :)

Belnor. a.k.a Anderlith for now. :D
