Can you make custom macros still like NWN1 for emotes and things?

Where is the action happening at lower levels and what level should you be before going much outside Cear? Seems the wolves are pretty dangerous at 2nd level.

Not the same as in NWN1, but there are a few workarounds. I don't know the exact procedure, but if you look around in Heed's PC Tools, you should find a UI for making macros.

Alternatively, I believe such a function exists in the NWN2 extended client.

Thanks wise monkey. Here is one for the DMs.

The wife and I are very occasional players and therefore are having a bit of trouble completing mutli part quest lines. Is it ok to repeat the same starter quest in a series to try and finish it over several days?

Reminds me of the second part of that question. Are there set times or a schedule for when the server is reset? If there is we could maybe plan our playtimes better to not abuse the lower level series quests?

Are the refuse bins supposed to delete items left in them? I found a quest reward in one and wondered if it should have been erased as a mechanism of the bins.

yes

every 2 or 3 days if i'm not mistaken, in the wee hours, and only if it's empty.

yes. there is a rare, like 1:50 times bug in placeables when they won't really close, so no OnClose scripts run. Probably what you're looking at there, an aberration.

Yes. Open up your PC Tools -> Miscellaneous -> Options -> Display Text Macro Panel

You can set them there.

Great speed and complete answers which is awesome thanks!

Wife is having a lot of spotty character stopping drag lag with twice as much RAM as I have and a quad processor whereas mine is a dual core. Could the processor be causing issues shifting the workload and if so is there a workaround to make it behave better and reduce her lag. My graphics are and have been cranked all the way up and we are trying that with hers next play time to see if that helps but any links to other sites or guidance of where to start would be great.

Open up task manager, select the process, right click, set processor affinity to the processor of your choice.

I doubt that's it though. Try turning down her anti-aliasing. See if turning off grass helps.

Check your shadow settings as well. The way shadows are rendered in this game they take a lot of graphical processing power.

Also oddly enough I've had my hard drives shut off due to a setting in my power saving profile while I've been in the middle of playing. It causes the game to hang for about 10 seconds while the hard drive spins back up. You could try changing the 'turn off hard disks' setting to never or a longer period of time.

We are trying running in XP mode under Vista. Thanks for the answers though and more questions to come I am sure. :)

I had a lot of trouble getting NWN2 to work on my rig as well. At the beginning, it wouldn't load at all - I found out that setting Anti-Aliasing to x8 was what made it not work. Anything lower and it loaded up, no problem. And yes to the shadow issue - they make even the most powerful computer cough, even today.

Well, it seems odd to me that having a really nice system and excellent graphics card that I should have to turn it down to get things to work, but guess it's worth a try.... It certainly makes it difficult to enjoy playing when you can't even talk to people without serious lag issues.

By the way Janah..who's your plastic surgeon?

Mmmh, I hear you. I got a pretty good system too, but turning the shadows all the way up completely kills my performance. Shoddy programming, I guess.

Okay so looks like the quad core was causing the problem or at least the worst of it. Here is a for some great lag fixing tips...http://www.tweakguides.com/NWN2_9.html.

Wondering why there is a little star by my posts in the forums, not that I mind the notice.
