Sturmmann's Encounters On the Streets of north Cear.

Post by Sturmmann »

Indeed, the streets are unsafe. Ask Minuvas or lokTok. But also ask yourself something: What makes them truly unsafe? Is it the criminals? Or perhaps the ones who wear the badge themselves?

I am new to Cear. Here I begin with nothing. And I see chaos surround me. The Watch cannot even deliver their Writs, or patrol the roads without encountering viscuous beasts. This is why I came to Cear. There is money to be made in the mercenary business. I am quickly entrusted to aid the Watch, and the local hunters in securing the area.

Out in the fields, I find a manageable foe. Murderers and wild animals roam and but i can take them down one by one. Sometimes though, I will wake up in the local graveyard, mistaken for dead. What little money I have pays to bandage my wounds.

But on the off chance I am able to return to the city with a few furs to sell, I do not wish to stay there long. LokTok and his gang patrol the streets. They are quick to confront anyone "brandishing a weapon" they say. But I am here for a quick drink, I will be on my way. No watchman will prevent me and my right to defend myself. And I wont stand to have some lazy, good-for-nothing vigilantes tell me otherwise! However, they laugh. They are strong. They steal my weapon, and cast spells. My warnings are over.

Now I dread Cear. Everytime I enter, I find myself harrassed by the local "Watchmen" or maybe I will be forced to listen to another long rant about "Lochwar". I ask, who will save us from this Great Tyranny? Are we not citizens of this government? When will we be safe in our own city from these fanatics?

The Emperor and Lochwar could not be reached for comment.

Even now you hound me! Be off! You took my sword and what little money I had... Perhaps now you look to "enforce" laws on someone of your level.

((Just so you know... I'm out of character. I'm complimenting the story and saying that I didn't take your gold OR your weapon))

Aye, my sword was torn from my hand and tossed to the ground. Many theives had stayed on the side lines, waiting for that moment. Suddenly they dove in; snatching it up, while "Watchman" LokTok stood and smiled at his evil deeds.

He enjoyed a sick pleasure in that moment. He watched as the color drained from my face. All of my work to tame the beasts, chase off the goblins, and aid the Watch were in vain. Now I would begin again. And so LokTok would sleep well in his cold bed.

((Sturmmann, I am complimenting your story. It is good. This is not the roleplaying section. I am simply saying it is a good story.))

Well somebody got up one the wrong side of the graveyard this morning. Strong writing indeed and, well I just have to ask, chicken what did you do to this poor soul?

Please allow him to rearm and I am sure he will sheath his weapon on future visits. :P

I disarmed him once, he picked it up and then took it out again. I rewarned him and then disarmed him. That time someone else got his weapon and he was the victim of a pickpocket apparently. :)

Edit: When have I NOT had a bounty of some sorts on my head?

Role play? Story? This is fact! This is what happens when a tyrant wears a badge and roams the streets to provoke honest tradesmen. This "ChikenKannon" carries out his corruption under his evil avatar "LokTok". He claims to be a man of the law, but he steals from a poor lvl 3 and tosses it to the theives. And these theives... They have nothing to fear. They steal and harm whomever they want, so long as as they remember to sheath their weapon and give "LokTok" a crooked smile as he passes. For what does he really serve?

Kazak, we can only dream of a time when a true hero puts this abuser in his place. What scraps of gold and furs we can muster may do the trick.
