In das 1 I played Hert Webber. He was a Neutral Evil Ranger that followed Anshar. The background of the character could be any number of things. If you play a ranger assassin, I would choose a panther as your animal companion. It would compliment your use of stealth. Balance can be seen in a number of ways. Remember, nature has its good and its bad.

NE might be a possibility, but I'm still undecided. Yes, evil is a necessary part of balance (the Druidic ideal), but with this campaign setting, evil is already well represented in the world.

I'm not saying that evil isn't or shouldn't be a possibility for a Druid or Ranger. I'm considering starting a player faction and working out in my head what the requirements would be.

I love the idea of NE druids that represent the wrath of nature! :D If you want an easy faction that always agrees then no don't let them in, but if you want an awesome faction that has degrees of inner conflict, then let 'em in. Druids are all connected by their love of nature, but they each represent a different facet of it. I think a druid faction should have all the available alignments, but that's just me.

Cheese, that right there is the best argument for them that I could imagine. That will most definitely factor in my thinking.

I was thinking LE for my ranger. Thankfully, unlike druids, rangers don't have an alignment restriction. I won't necessarily have her worship Druaga though (I can't get used to the new names, heh).. perhaps Nergal.

I'm also not expecting that all Rangers and Druids would necessarily be interested or welcomed... There's always a few bad apples.

I have a question and prefered surviving this thread instead of starting a new one:

Are animals always going to attack druids on sight in Das2 or is that something subject to change?
