CIW's RL character sheet
Occupation(s): Glorified baby sitter (Child Care Educator), self employed bum (aspiring novelist and screenwriter).
Favourite Bands: Mother Mother, Muse.
Favourite Hobbies: Stealing cats and redubbing them things such as Aristophanes, Archimedes and Mephistopholes. Also philosphy, feminism, archery, writing, Taekwondo, and swimming. Also bugging Americans by adding "u" to their words. Also hunting adverbs in other people's work when they ask me to edit. The word "also."
Quote that best summarizes my philosophy: "People ask why I'm such a twisted man. I reply that I have the heart of a young boy; in a jar, right next to his brain."
Best stat: Int.
Worst stat: Str.
Class, if real life were like D&D: Rogue/Wizard/Arcane Trickster.
Favourite RP Playstyle: The righteous martyr with a mean, Machiavellian political streak.
Favourite method of body disposal: Feed to hungry alligators/pigs/whatever's available.
Favourite NWN2 PW Prior to trying Dasaria 2: Elements of Aesyr.
I'm a comfortably middle class (though most of us are--hurray socialism) Canadian/closet Brit.
I wrote a novel. I'm rewriting it after a cold streak with literary agents, but I will publish this &^%$#@. If you ask, I will tell. Otherwise, I'll keep it to myself to maintain an aesthetic of aloof mystery. Cue ghost sounds.
I've been floating around PWs on and off since the end of Elements of Aesyr. One thing EoA did right was its malleability--players could get their hands dirty shaping the setting. Your promise to do the same has brought me here.
One consequence of that is that my characters tend to get... involved. This has only been problematic with inflexible servers.

Marquesa Maldonado: Surgeon. Amateur historian. Scholar-priestess. Reluctant midwife. Maybe sociopathic.

Welcome to Dasaria.
Stay a while, kick up your feet, and feel free to ask any questions you need.
Be sure to peruse the wiki (see my sig), though don't go through it adding "u"'s to things.
Though adverb hunting may be helpful, I like adverbs probably a bit to much.

Re: CIW's RL character sheet
I actually read the wiki for a couple hours before introducing myself. I tacked on to the end of my first post the rest of what I wanted to say, which amounts to "I like mucking around in the setting and stirring up trouble." In other words, I research my PWs a little before getting my feet wet.Peregrinus wrote:

That said, I won't go adverb hunting/"u" adding unless asked. Though...
I like adverbs probably a bit too much.

*A wave from another former EoA player.*
You might remember a fella there by the name of Jaek Kalantine..
Welcome aboard CiW, it will be good to catch up again

Jaek was one of two characters that could beat Phineas in a fight (not counting NPCs). Of course I remember you.
He was also the few other morally ambiguous characters that weren't obviously evil, which is cool.
Thank you all for the lovely welcomes. I'm level 3 so far, and I've already got plans which I will bring to fruition after I'm a bit more established.
Edit: Before I forget--You'll help me hoist LH's corpse on a pole for all to see if we ever meet him, right?!

Welcome
Enjoy your stay in Dasaria, I'm sure you'll fit in just fine
You might wish to try Pubslush, which might be a little easier. There is of course also Kobo's Writing Life led by the Canadian eBook/eReading company which I highly recommend - since then your readers can read your book in up to 190 countries, and on pretty much any android/iphone/ipad/eBook Reader - less charity related but you'll have more control over prices/sales/discounts. The main drawback is it would be an eBook instead of a physical book.CharacterInWhite wrote:I wrote a novel. I'm rewriting it after a cold streak with literary agents, but I will publish this &^%$#@.
