Coven of Iaosia - Lendose

Post by Luis4u »

The door opened into the temple of Iaosia. There were an elven woman standing at the door. She was wearing a white tunic and her long brown falling down on her arms. She putted a long bow on her back and entered the Coven of Iaosia. She slowly marched into the temple. The surrounding trees and animals made her feel like she were at home. There the time had stopped. There were no Canite servants, no corrupted Varana soldiers, that were fighting all over in Dasaria.

She felt so good that she had almost forgotten about her mission. After a short moment she was standing next to Fina, the Priestess of Autumn. She looked at her for a second and then began to report her founding.

Fina, I am Milva Barring. I have come to report something to you. I think that the balance has been disturbed.

Milva was talking long about the situation in the Thralls Gate. She was worried about the shadows that had covered the whole area. She was worried that maybe one morning the shadows could reach the grove near tristan and the whole plants would die without the sun. She didn't wanted to see that, thats why she arrived here at the Coves of Iaosia.

Priestess of Autumn you are the most experienced of all here in the Temple. I want to ask you for a blessing to the grove near Tristan village. Your words may give hope for the better future and I could sleep without being worried about the groves future.

Milva bowed and waited for the Priestess answer, but she was almost sure that the grove will receive the blessing.

Fina smiled warmly to the girl and rested a hand on her shoulder gently.

"Be calm child, be patient. All that is of Iaosia is already blessed. However, if you still feel it necessary, it can be arranged that a blessing be performed on the grove."

"For your concerns of the troubles within Thrall's Gate. Do not fret my child. It is localized to that region and seems connected to Lochwar's temple. If it spreads, we will consider it closer, or if we are requested by the clergy within Thrall's Gate."

"You must be patient child. Your mind travels at a run when only a walk is needed. Be calm and still your mind. Tune yourself and things be become clearer."

Milva lifted her head and looked at Fina. From the first time a single smile appeared on her face. Her mind began to calm down. A positive energy that was the priestess was sending to her calmed her down. She began to find the balance in the words of Fina.

Thanks you priestess for your words, they are like a balsam to my soul. You have calmed me down, however I think that the blessing of the grove would be something that will, give hope to us all and the animals in there.

Fina nods reassuringly.

"Then it shall be arranged to bless the grove for Iaosia child."

Very well priestess, we will be waiting for your arrival impatiently. I shall go back to the Grove and wait for you there.

Milva bowed towards Fina, then slowly headed to the doors of the temple.

Dusk brings with it a visitor to the coven. The elven huntress pauses tiredly at the foot of the stairs and then slowly ascends into the temple proper, disengaging her framepack at the top and prostrating herself before the large pool of water. It is a rare moment of humility, and she glances about quickly as she rises to be sure that no one was watching too closely.

The huntress delivers a message to the winter priestess Saeyva; there are no words or icons, only a handful of dead leaves and a sickly twig. Wordlessly she indicates to the leaves, to herself, and then crosses both arms in front of her like a shield. The long journey catches up at last, and the huntress finds a cozy spot in the coven to seat herself, descending into a long reverie...

It was a dark night when the doors opened to the Temple of Ki. An elven woman slowly entered the Temple, delicately closing the doors behind her. She leaned her long bow on the wall near the entrance to the great hall. The balance aura that she felt there made her feel like at home. At home that she lost few weeks ago. A tear of pain appeared in one of her eyes.

She hold her breath, trying to stop the tears and slowly marched into the temple. She made her steps to the person that helped Defenders once. Now she hoped that she will do it again. Maybe her knowledge would be helpful and could give some clues for the grove restoration.

Few days earlier Milva left the "dark Grove" and began her march towards Lendose. He decided not to say a word to the druid. IT was her decision to ask the great Mistress for Help. She didn't believed that help could be found in Cear, like the druid expected. For her the only place to find such information was the Temple of Ki in Lendose.

She keeled before the Priestess of Autumn and whispered quietly. When she began to speak another few tears began to drop from her eyes.

High Priestess, you who once have shown us you attention and help, you whose knowledge is greater that the hills of Korr mountains, please aid us one more time. The Sacred Grove is Dead! Please help us restore it. Help us to send away the curse of Drakhen Blade!

Fina looked down upon Milva and placed a hand on her shoulder. The woman's excessively pale skin seeming glowed faintly in the starlight world of the darkened temple.

Fina frowned, "I'm sorry, daughter. I have been down to the poisoned river and found it entirely inert to my restorative magic. If this be the same magic that has taken your grove, I am afraid it is beyond my powers to help.

I have come to believe that this is the magic of Ch´taia. The nature of this magic is an anathema, antithetical to life itself, an eater of the world from the inside. To contemplate such magic too closely might drive a priestess of nature insane, to touch it would be madness, as it might take root and new form within.

It ought not be manipulated by the living," she shook her head.

"Would that we stood in the center of the Naithe, protected by the magic of Ioasia, where she herself planted the great heart trees that form the ring of six, perhaps we could challenge such magic directly..." Fina trailed off, as if contemplating whether or not to say what she was going to say next.

"Once... Once there was a group known as the Dark Druids who dared to wield power of this nature. Perhaps, if they still exist... they might know something of how to better counteract the effects of this magic. But I don't think they would help you willingly.

Short of the power of the heart trees, I'm afraid there's little we mortals can do to dispel the magic of an Elder God, even a dead one. We must find and stop whomever is doing this, prevent it from happening again, but I'm afraid you may never be able to return to your grove again.

I will pray for Ioasia's divine intervention."

Few days had passed and once more the doors to the Temple of Ki opened once more. The small spare hidden under the green robe slowly walked into the chamber. He made his steps directly to the priestess of Autumn. He noded to the rest of the priests and bowed before Fina.

May the eternal grace of our lady shines upon you all Sisters of Balance. I have come do ask for your advice. One of my scouts told me about the group called the "Dark Druids". I need any trace that you can give me, to find some clue about them. They forsaken knowledge might hold a key to make a "antidote" to the poison that is spreading across whole Dasaria.

Looks around and looks at groups of Priestests surrounding him. He looked at their eyes and waited for the answer.

"The Dark Druids," a set of footsteps comes up behind the dwarf, "Never thought I'd hear that name again."

A youthful man stands nearby, obviously having entered the Temple shortly after the druid. He is clearly not associated with the Temple, but nods familiarly to the Priestesses.

"I can tell some about them," Phelan states quietly, "my family has some history in dealing with them; a rather unpleasant lot to be told. If this concerns the Grove in Tristan, then it only confirms my fears."

"The Dark Druids are followers of the Great Hydra," he says the name in almost a whisper, "they seek nothing short of the unmaking of civilization and the return of the world to primordial chaos. They long opposed the servants of Iosia, destroying what they sought to preserve, waging war against their champions. Once, during the Great War, they attempted to capture and kill the legendary Archdruid Cirrian Silverwind. They were foiled, fortunately."

Phelan frowns quietly, "What else might you need to know?"

The druids turns his head to the new arrived man. He looks at his with his calm, green eyes and listens to the story of the "Dark Druids". As the man finished to tell his story, the druid thinks for awhile. His thoughts began to run in his mind like a herd of wild mustangs. This were one of the information that he was looking for. He wanted to ask so many things but the first question was .....

......were was their home. Did they left some books about their "Dark Cult"? Maybe somewhere they had written some ritual that could stop spreading the "Darkness in the Nature". Please, I need any clue you could give me to save my brothers and sisters.

The druid looks at the man waiting for his answer. He realizes that each second the "Cures of the Drakhen" spreads across the green plains of Dasaria. Time began to run faster.

A weary elven huntress ascends to coven's steps. She casts aside her framepack and weapons, moving urgently to the clear pool to tend to an unhealed wound. Is that wyvern poison? This could be a problem.

Her eyes roll back. The huntress falls into a deep sleep...
