All you guys are metagaming. Your character doesn't know about all these names. And I've seen different people with the same name before. In fact, I think there were like 4 Matt's in my 2nd grade class. AND there was a Stephen King that I went to middle and high school with.

That's not the point though.

The point is that such names break immersion. A character wouldn't know what the hell Lol ZoMg would be, that's right. It's just another name.

But to me, as a player. I just think "well... great".

the only names i worry about are those with offensive language or those IareUber kind of names.

Mostly cause there are only so many names you can use before you have to star repeating yourself in some way.
I'm always right. I'm also a jerk. It's not my fault you can't get over the latter to see the former.

Hurray for Me!

Topic titles are like turn signals. They aren't for your benefit, but for the people around you.

((Paraphrased for content.))

Will: Has there been any word of the bootkeeper's wife, Desiree?

Nrungg: She was sold into slavery.

Will: Any ideas who bought her or where she is?

Nrungg: Just a letter found on a dwarf in the caves. Tough bastard, nearly wiped out half the party.

PC that will remain anonymous: lol i just killed it by running to the guards.

Nrungg as Anonymous PC leaves their conversation: Who the hells is Ellohell?

Will: I don't know. But Ellohell is surely dead now.

Nrungg: I wouldn't want to be him.

Seeing that there is a discussion about names does anyone really have a problem with the name I gave my character, Rhode Wraigh?

If it upsets enough people I will ask one of the DM to change the name. I just thought it would be a funny play on words.

I seen the most rediculous name this morning. "613 The Evil" ....... If I were a DM I'd spawn an aggressive Paladin on top of him & -613 xp every time I seen him. hehe

If anyone read the stance on names, I dont think the staff has any issues with creativity and playing on words to create unique names. I do believe that what they care about is making sure that we dont get repeats of "Jesus Christ", "God", "Batman", "Joker", and "Chuck Norris".

Again, remember the words "common sense". If you name your character "Ownz Yer Face" expect to be asked to rename. Staying away from popular culture such as "Wolverine" or "Captain Kirk" may also be a good idea.

"Summoned DireHalfling" takes the cake I think.. now if only he had made it a human instead of a halfling.

I hate how NWN2 doesn't allow spaces in first or last names like NWN1 did. Makes it kind of hard to be one of those characters that forfeits his name to his god. Remember the five or six "Disciple of Marduk" that we had?
