This one was originally chosen for Tahl'nae but SilasNorth has convinced me it fits Calico so much more:

Decided on this theme song for Derek

Derek is a bit of a hard character to explain, because a lot of things inspired me to create him. First it should be noted that my favorite kind of toon to RP as is a Youth, and Orphans especially, because they have to rise to the challenge. Not only that but they can go in any direction, and don't have a lot of self confidence. I started a Child Psychology class in college because the field interested me and I was curious. And over time I started to gain an Appreciation for youth. The Biggest inspiration for Derek was a book called "Astray" by an internet Author named 'Kichi' ((I wouldn't recommend looking into it if you aren't incredibly open minded.)), Along with a Combination from his other stories, and other Non-fiction titles. I created Derek with no plan in mind, I gave him a back story and ran with him. And his story ran the rest of the course. Derek is perhaps one of my favorite characters to play at the moment because of the fact that his development relies on the interaction with other characters, and it needs to be consistent interaction. Its fun to see who actualy has the patience to deal with him, and who writes him off.

His overall theme is over coming fear, depression and Anxiety at a very fragile stage of his life. where most other characters personalities can be set in stone, Dereks isnt, and can change from day to day.

Yvalee runs for a cause, for a dream, for a love, for a teen rebellion. To break free from the ties that bind her and to break dawn for a new world. There's more to this than the obvious, and more than plain good and evil. Though many will simply consider her to be stupid, undoubtedly.

Jai Ho (Victory Prevail) - as performed by The Pussycat Dolls
http://youtu.be/NaBfnmVwDt8

I got shivers when you touch my face
I'll make you hot, get all you got
I'll make you wanna say

I got fever runnin' like a fire
For you I will go all the way
I'm gonna take you higher

I keep it steady 'cause steady that's how I do it
This beat is heavy so heavy you gonna feel it

You are the reason that I breathe
You are the reason that I still believe
You are my destiny, Jai hoooooooooo

No, there is nothin' that can stop us
Nothing can ever come between us
So come and dance with me, Jai ho

Catch me, catch me, catch me
C'mon catch me, I want you now
I know you can save me
Come and save me, I need you now

I am yours forever, yes forever I will follow
Any way and any day, never gonna let go

Escape away I'll take you to a place
This fantasy of you and me
I'll never lose the chance

I can feel you rushin' through my vains
There's an ocean in my heart
I will never be the same

Just keep it burnin', yeah baby just keep it comin'
You're gonna find out, baby I'm one in a million years
Jai hooooooooooooo

You are the reason that I breathe
You are the reason that I still believe
You are my destiny, Jai ho

No, there is nothin' that can stop us
Nothing can ever come between us
So come and dance with me, Jai ho

Catch me, catch me, catch me
C'mon catch me, I want you now
I know you can save me
Come and save me, I need you now

I am yours forever, yes forever I will follow
Any way on any day, never gonna let go

I need you, gonna make it
I'm ready, so take it

You are the reason that I breathe
You are the reason that I still believe
You are my destiny, Jai ho

No, there is nothin' that can stop us
Nothing can ever come between us
So come and dance with me, Jai ho
You and me, it's destiny

Baila, baila
Baila, baila
Baila, baila
