Owned in part by Calimus Vells
The shop is located in a respectable neighborhood, near the Blade's Hall and Spirit of Song Inn. A large sign sits above the doorway, advertising the name along with a black and white painting of a wine bottle standing before a steamy cauldron. The building itself is relatively new, with only one previous owner. Wards both magic and mechanical guard non-shop entrances.

Shop hours vary, but it is usually open during the day.

When one steps inside, two crystals on either side of the entrance give a warm hum. A desk sits in the corner, facing the entrance, where usually an employee is seated. The doors left and right are well-locked and are signed with "employees only". Across, a usually open doorway that leads into the shop proper, where numerous items are stacked, dangled, assorted, and are otherwise stored. Another offshoot passageway there has an "private" sign.

A slightly smokey and sweet scent, not particularly strong, emanates from inside somewhere. The place is usually lively, and sounds of thick, alchemical bubbling, the beating of a hammer on metal, conversation (not always in common), and the laughter of children can sometimes be heard. The shop owners are well-known for entertaining guests, and some of the traffic reflects that.

*Ardaion, on his way from the Blade's Hall to the Buck Inn, takes a few steps back as he notices the newly popped up store. As of late, they seem to appear from everywhere. But what will you have; gold is coming cheap and flowing the streets. Opportunists will find a way to make coin off of the backs of those who're most willing to spend. And spending is what is on his mind.

He turns and shields his view from another blaze of Rellian attacks. He squints and peers through the window with his nose only being an inch away from touching it. Then suddenly he startles and falls back as the small, yet very present, nose of a halfling is thudded against the other side of the window.

"Oy, you want to buy mister? Why don't you come in??" the muffled voice sounds through the cracks in the wall. Why, yes, in a way.. but he'd not quite expected to be rushed into it.

Mildly annoyed he takes another step back and then turns to continue his venture toward the Buck. Still, good to know there is a store like this. The next thought gives his face a whole new, softer appearance and his eyes a twinkle. Surely, the contents of this store will satiate a little magpie.*

It took several inquiries to find the place, the directions he received being less than... direct. None the less, he was standing now in front of the establishment, hoping. Noticed the sign, and smirked - of course it would be easily recognizable... if you asked a person already acquainted with the establishment.

He entered, pausing to allow his eyes to adjust to the slightly dimmer light within. Glanced at the humming crystals flanking the doorway, announcing his entry.

The place did seem to have a potential.

He seemed to arrive at early opening hours, as there was just one person present, their back turned to him as they retrieved something from a low shelf. A hand was being waves at him, the gesture both an acknowledgement and request for waiting, with a trace of apologies mixed in.

Or maybe he was still reading too much into gestures made here. Their use was certainly far, far less... elaborate... than the customs still fresh on his mind.

He was impatient. Partially because of the potential of obtaining something he severely missed, but there was also the matter of seeing a noble about work on a miniature. As a personal principle, he preferred not to give them too much time between placing an order and the work actually starting.

“I am looking for a writing tool. A gnomish invention, if I'm not mistaken. Somewhat similar to a charcoal stick, but much more resilient and with better writing properties.”

He was hoping some were available immediately. If not... perhaps the store owner would be interested in adding a very, very profitable item to their inventory.

A finely dressed dwarf walks up to the door "Closed again"... having come across this issue before, he came prepared this time and slid an envelope under the door.
When there is no other way, the perilous path is the only road to salvation.

Iron Man

Post by Sahji »

Set up across from the entrance, the Enchanted Cask & Cauldron's newest member:
Otto Von Bahn. The iron golem bouncer slash gigantic advertisement slash proof of skill was set to welcome new arrivals with its robotic grinding voice.

It may have not been the best door greeter, but the shop owners were known to be rather eccentric.

*A letter is brought to the noble house of Lord Rhaz. The one personally assigned to the task takes at least half an hour bringing up the courage to approach the manor, hearing his share of rumors both pleasant AND... not so pleasant regarding the man. The letter itself is upon quality vellum with a handwriting that's not the fanciest but at least passible regarding the material used. It's message is rather simple."

Dear Lord Rhaz,

Let's talk ships.

Sincerely,
Calimus Vells.

*a series of intricate pathways, twists, and turns are taken within the bowels of the Cear docks district. A letter is slid beneath a door at the end of the pre-determined pathway and the deliverer of such gone an instant after.*

My dear redheaded spitfire,

I'm interested in discussing locks with you. The Gearfizzle 950 has served me well for nearly 2 years. However, I believe it's time for something more. I'm expanding the business, looking into a ship and warehouse. If I can win this current legal property war I'm engaged in, I may even be opening up a completely new shop. All of this is going to require security, TOP-NOTCH security and when it comes to such things no one knows more about locks than you. I'd like to meet up anytime and in any place of your choosing. Drop by the shop whenever you like or leave a message. I hope to see you soon.

Sincerely,
Calimus

A sealed note is delivered to the chief proprietor and owner.
Mr. Vells,

I am in the market for large quantities of explosives in such compactness as to be carried by light infantry. Let us meet in a few days after your creativity has sufficiently solved the problem. Your discretion is appreciated.

A heavy iron lockbox has been delivered to the Enchanted Cask and Cauldron. Warning labels adorn it, threatening legal and divine retribution against mishandling, and imploring that "this" side be up.

*Wandering into the store, as if by accident, the middle-aged man, clearly of Anjiro heritage, peruses the wares, not quite sure of what the products are, as he cannot speak nevermind read common, but he soon finds his way to anyone who would be interested, holding out a translated note which reads:

I, Xiasheng Qiao, would be interested in the purchase of a silver Katana with a holy enchantment placed upon it accompanied by a silver Wakizashi with a flaming enchant placed upon it. I have a summable amount of crowns for which to pay for said enchantments and would very much be interested in aiding in the procurement of any resources required for said enchantments."
A Fish, a fish, a fish, a fish .... Ohhhhh Fishy! Where did the fish go? Is it in the cupboard? Or is it up the stairs? For it went wherever I did go.

*after some communication barriers are handled and a place to reach the man is eventually established, Calimus is forced to consult the aid of the best linguist he knows.... who just happens to live in the creepiest house in the Empress District. After an uncomfortable visit and some business dealings, a note is written and finds it's way to the foreigner in his tongue. Creepy dwellings or not, the note written by Academus Ishmarle looks as though written from one of Anjiran itself*

"The Enchanted Cask & Cauldron is able to tend to your needs regarding the katana quite efficiently sir. Please make arrangements to come by the shop some time and we shall discuss business and price. There is some concern regarding the holy enchantment however as well as this wakizashi blade. Casts of weapons foreign to this land are not always easy to get ahold of. However, come by and we can discuss this further. As you can tell from this note, I am not without resources to bridge a much better line of communication between us than last time.

Sincerely,
Calimus Vells, Co-Owner of the Enchanted Cask & Cauldron
