Don't mean to sound rude to anyone thats not had a chance to reply yet.
But this probably reflects the racial diversity amongst the forum goers/roleplayers and not the entire server population...

I suspect drow will be low in this poll because, to be quite honest, most drow I see in game just run around ignoring anything people say to them. Some put in the effort of 'lol'. I don't think many of them end up here. :)

Considering I see at least 5 drow running around whenever I am on I do my best to make them feel unwelcome.

Can you create text macros this time around?

Cause if you can I will just macro,

"Leave me alone Drow scum"

It gives me that warm fuzzy feeling whenever they try to talk to me.
I'm always right. I'm also a jerk. It's not my fault you can't get over the latter to see the former.

Hurray for Me!

Topic titles are like turn signals. They aren't for your benefit, but for the people around you.

1 human, 1 wood-elf, and I'm seriously considering an CN or CG aasimir warlock (just to tick people off). I can't decide on a damn race for Faen yet.

Half-elves are ugly though. *cough* The little wood elves are cute.

Tiefling Druid. More story coming.

I suspect that if you broke down the Planetouched category into Tiefling and Aasimar, you'd find a lot more Tieflings than Aasimar. I think the numbers for either should be low, with Aasimar nonexistant (or very nearly so). I have yet to see a compelling campaign explanation for their presence in this world.

It's like every fourth person I see is either Drow or Tiefling. Eeep!

*sniff* I'd love to say drow, but alas.. I don't...

Maybe, in another life.

I'm an elf. Both sides of me, are. We're elves.

Aasimar do blend in with humans, though....it's really hard to tell them apart just from looking at one.

Lorcann - "BACON!"

This is actually a character idea that I've had rolling around in my head since I saw Tieflings added as a character race.

You see most people playing Tieflings or Drow for the bonuses. This class receives very little benefit from those bonuses, it is entirely a character choice.

I'm not talking about "blending in" or addressing any of the persecution or lack thereof for any of the non-standard races. I'm just saying that as a race, there is little to no prior campaign justification for Aasimar in Dasaria. It's entirely personal opinion, but I'd say I'm pretty familiar with the story line for this particular world.

Yeah, just realized I misread that, heh...I thought you were saying you were noticing more Aasimar around, not that if you actually got a comprehensive list of planetouched that there would be more tieflings or aasimar. I definitely wasn't commenting on the campaign justification for one or the other; I'm fully aware that tieflings were a hell of a lot more visible than aasimar in Dasaria I.

No worries. I, personally, am all for every non-human race staying in the minority. Of course, my hypocrisy shows because I've chosen a non-human character to start with.

I have a dislike for the Underdark races as PCs and wish that Drow had never been given the opportunity to flourish in Dasaria. However, it looks like they're here to stay. Having a wider variety of Elves, Dwarves, and Halflings allows for a little extra tailoring to fit a character type, but it's not really that much. To me, Tieflings and Aasimar REALLY need to have a good character story to properly justify their existance - more than any other race. I would fully support a requirement for DM approval before playing any of the ECL races.
