I usually play human or elf , but am playing tiefling here. Always liked the "outsider" part of planetouched. Also like genasi. The Rp that comes from "racisim" towards the planetouched/underdark races can be quite fun.
I'm used to application servers, but it can be a pain coming up with stories for all the different servers that one might try. But sisce I like what I've seen here I think I'm gonna stay and so wouldn't mind coming up with a good background if it came to it.

Hes right though. on the planetouched. as that means that you are directly related. if you where any less tainted you would be a sorc. no more no less. as you have innate powers, though weak, you are more connected that anyone else could be.
so momma or dad was a half celestial.

My main is a human, for a number of reasons boiling down into the fact that I consider humans, in the end, to be the most unique of races
Second character is a svirfneblin... it was meant to be a grinding character for a bit of stress therapy every now and then, but after an accidental run-in with a certain Thiefling while trying to complete the initial quests for the umpty-time, I suddenly grew fond of the tiny guy, and ended up roleplaying the evening away (he's still level 1
)
Come on. What's not to like about 3'5'' bundle of easily excitable warrior with a lifelong dream of introducing the joys of short-folk lives to the tallies by means of application of a blade to the ankles.

This made me laugh, i liked it. Even though i play a Drow in a mostly human setting. its the kind of response one expects or should expect as a Drow. So far my favorite has been the halfing that does a lil' screech in game and hides, is the best. Wish i remembered the name. Not that my character is bad. But these two types of reactions are as they should be. Maybe when there are more areas to work with the few Drow will start showing there true nature (RP) good/bad/ indifferent ((cant have the only area too play in off limits *grins*))Considering I see at least 5 drow running around whenever I am on I do my best to make them feel unwelcome.
Can you create text macros this time around?
Cause if you can I will just macro,
"Leave me alone Drow scum"
It gives me that warm fuzzy feeling whenever they try to talk to me.
"Watch what you do, you never know who else is watching"

The server I played on in NWN1 times (oh, fond days of yore) had a human-only restriction for starting race, and RP-token system as curency for favors from the DM-team, including unlocking any other races.
I must say, after the initial shock, it turned out a motivation for people to actually build strong character personalities that, later, were likewise applied to characters of other races.
Actually, vast majority of the populance did remain human. It made the long-term other race characters something special, rekindling that spark of magic so very much lost in fantasy nowadays where only certain physical traits seem to separate one race from another.
Not that I am advocating such restrictions (pretty much because I am certain such a petition would be used, at most, to start the stake on fire)...
Just a random comment induced by the end of workday daydreaming.
