I would like to see a light application process involved and pw protected.

[Will go into more detail later.]

Upon my weapons will never dry
Many I'll send into the ground

If it prevents you from having to deal with disciplinary actions, the by all means, yes.

I voted no, mainly because I know I and many others would never have tried Dasaria if it were passworded to begin with.

I really liked this idea. At least it will slow people who are just passing by and not here to stay. I personally read the forums for two days before I jumped into the server to try it out. Having a password/application wouldn't have stopped me personally. A person with some common sense would understand that password is there for a reason.

If you don't understand why the server has a password with a free application.... well then you probably won't have fun on Dasaria anyways.

Currently I think yes. With Das being the only fuctional server up in either PW market it currently will bring almost anyone in. In the future though I would like to see it opened back up to the public, by then people will have found more places to go to and will probally fit their likes better.

The most important thing though right now is Devs and DMs should not be having to deal with issues now other then content, stories, and of course their own real lives :)

Why not just put the password in nice tiny text right at the bottom of the server rules list? at least that way they've read it, oh and ofcourse don't forget to mention that by using that password, they are acknowledging that they have read and fully understand the server rules... And I know a lot of people would move on to another server than having to post an application and wait just to try it out.

We would be risking losing quite some good rpers if the server is passworded, so I'd personally prefer passwording as to be only temporary...ops, talking as if it was already decided. :P

Anyways, I won't vote yet though. I feel rebellious by not doing so. Blame it on teenager hormones. :)

I posted this in the the other thread on the topic - Villains! - but I'll put it here again, in case it gets missed over there.

IF it were me, I'd elevate a long standing, respected member of the community to DM/mod status, purely for the purpose of dealing with the influx of abuse complaints and griefers. Hopefully, eliminating the need for a PW.

It's difficult to say. Though I'd prefer to see a server unpassworded for the sake of freedom, I think it might be beneficial in our case as currently I don't enjoy playing Dasaria 2 (you may have noticed I've been on for about 2 hours of the last 168) and anything to change that has to be good.

It very much depends on how it's implemented. I'm not always sure about 'give your character description -then- start playing' things. You need to learn a little about the world y'know. That said, if the password was put with the rules, we'd make sure only the people that care about the rules get in :3

I'd agree with a light application system, but nothing like The Frontier, where they have a screening process and pick out the choicest sweet meat.

I like this idea. It's clever and would help clean it up. But maybe put the password in the middle. Just so that people wouldn't skim through the whole thing to just get the password.

This community is filled with a bunch crying babies. If things don't go their way, they get on the forums and start crying about it. They want momma Jeh to cradle and console them.

I say, let the babies cry. They need to learn to sooth themselves - no applications.

And when one of these idiots gets on anyway after reading the rules, gets diciplined, banned or whatever, and then hands the passowrd out to all of his little griefer friends we end up back where what started this thread.

I am abstaining voting for now as things read on the forums and witnessed in game leave me unable to make an unbiased opinion.

Eh, I voted yes based solely on the fact that it's Beta.

Beta really shouldn't have to deal with disciplinary actions, it's more about getting the game running smoothly and working correctly.

Once it's out of Beta though, that's a different story.

I've not voted on the poll myself for the same reason, even though I'm inclined to agree that a password would be useful.

Rob, we don't need comments like that. I respect your opinion but can you try to word it a little less obtusely next time?
