A question to the people this is happening to:

What Video Cards are you using?

I'm asking because if it's an ATI issue we may be able to track down exactly what is causing this.
If you build it, they will come.

I really dislike people who do not review their error messages.

In tech support, you really do not want to hear: "I don't know what it said, it was an illegal operation somewhere and it crashed."

Yeah, great.. you.. crashed. Now that narrows it down..

People seem to take a crash as a crash, although the errors are similar, this is not the same issue as the outdoor areas, and should not entirely be blamed on Obsidian.

In my case, it is an issue with a .NET framework .dll which I can not seem to fix. As some people enter these ares just fine, I am convinced I am doing something wrong.

To answer the above question, this is my spec:

AMD 4600+ Dualcore
2Gb Memory
ATI X1950XT 512Mb gfx.
Some mornings it doesn't seem worth it to gnaw through the leather straps..

Crashed for me just now. I'm angry since it's midday and the server doesn't usually restart til midnight. Ugh. Tried to log in, crashed again. No error messages or anything, just a CTD.

GPU: Saphire 1950XTX.

When my current project is finished, I am going to rebuild this area from scratch.

Unless someone else wants to submit a new one for inclusion?

how are we supposed to know what it looks like? no one ever gets in :P
I'm always right. I'm also a jerk. It's not my fault you can't get over the latter to see the former.

Hurray for Me!

Well since I have nothing else to do until the server is rebooted, i'd be happy to make a replica of the area if you send me a screenshot of it.

I can't until I get home. If no one does it by the time I get home, I will post one. It is a pretty simplistic interior, and won't take long. It's just a question of priorities currently.

Same Problem

Post by Eisenfaust »

I just started crashing entering the same place! I've tried relogging in like 8 times and I always crash with the same error. Access violation in msvcr80.dll. I entered/exited like 8 zones with no problem just before going into this place.

I wish Obsidian would stabilize the damn client/server.

Well, I am at a loss. I rebuilt the entire area. I will remove the transition to the area in the meantime. Sorry guys and girls.

Don't worry about it. There shouldn't be ANYTHING you can do to cause the client to generate an access violation on my computer. I just wish I could get ahold of their code and add some reasonable exception handling so you wouldn't have to deal with this crap.

Just to add my 2 cents, but I'm also crashing at the trinkets. using an ATI card. I've recently built two pretty nice system's both using NVidia cards, and they're fine.

I've got an NVIDIA card I could put in my system and test if that would help?
