There's nothing you can say IC about experience. It is a strictly OOC thing. So please people, don't abuse it. If you are fighting near someone else and are engaged with your own target, there is no reasonable excuse to switch to the other person's target when it gets low to steal the death blow. It's a douchy thing to do and demonstrates a lot of disrespect.

Sad to see that there are still people making such lame displays of "respect" for their fellow players. I hope we can weed most of them out before the end of the Beta.

My character does not steal death blows, he kills the enemy. I personally target any enemy I see, whether another character is fighting it or not, no matter what level.

I'm sure some players do this nasty trick, however I don't even consider another character's potential XP into my character's choices, ever. I rarely consider even my own XP. XP is next to meaningless to me. it is the easiest gained commodity in the entire game.

Just adding perspective to this. Not trying to de-validate being annoyed by it, tho BR.

And that's totally cool, Grayle. The difference here is you wouldn't go around switching targets to the one that is lowest leaving the one engaging you alone just in time to get the death blow.

Yep, lame. I play a chaotic evil character, and sometimes I have trouble because there is a fine line between RPing evil and just being a jerk. This is waaaaay over that line. For more then one reason.

You could always accidentally target them. I'm not sure why posts like these are considered constructive, since it is unlikely the people doing it don't read them. And how much xp was it anyway? 20 or so? If it bugs you so much, kill them and kick them out of the area.

You're right. The target audience probably won't see it. It annoyed me someone would blatantly do something like that when it happened so I posted about it. Sorry for an inconvenience this thread has caused. If it really isn't considered a constructive topic, please lock or delete it. I understand if you do.

A fairly simple rule can be applied.

First time - ignore it.
Second time - tell them to back off if that is your IC inclination.
Third time - Show them what the respawn button looks like.

Accidentaly targetting easily happens, but also, I have wilfully switched targets so we can all focus on one at a time. IT's just something Ive always done, as it cut's them down quickest.

This is only something I do in a party though. I'f Im not partied or they arent partied, I wont go and kill what they are killing, unless it's RP'd out

But what if the offender is a cleric or a druid?
