Sebastian is a man bewildered by life and charmed by freedom. Grayle is is his travelling name. He is somewhat guileless in the sense that he has experienced little of the world or society, it's politeneses and politics. Awestruck, yet ambitious, he yearns to never be hungry again, never be without a bed and life's simple comforts. The only way he knows to accomplish gaining coins is through combat and exploration. His personal desire to travel and curiousity of the world may lead to larger plans one day.

Grayle is tall and strong, in his late twenties. He is usually unshaven, his gear showing signs of wear-and-tear. Most of the time, he has a battered tankard in his hand or a large sword -either seems to bring him the same level of comfort. It is known he hails from Dasar, and looks to be of the lower class. It is rumored he has relatives in Cear.

Lok'Tok, not an upstanding citizen. Nor is he a rioting criminal. He doesn't really seem to fit in any crowd, even amongst thieves he doesn't look right. Most people could think that he'd sell his friends for a dollar, but it'd depend on the friend. And also the amount of gold that friend had helped him previously. Everything has a price. Simple as that, give him a enough coin and he'd do anything. But he'll be discreet about it, ask about him and you'll get a large amount of varying descriptions of the man.

Built like a house, not that it's visible, underneath his several layers of 'anti-dagger' clothing is a body designed for the simple task of breaking others. The only valuable piece of equipment on him would be the golden charm wrapped around his wrist with the symbol of Naurani etched onto various parts of it.

Nrungg is your typical half-orc, if by typical you mean city-born, slum raised, and having your mother be the loving caring.. full blooded orc?! Obviously a complicated man, Nrungg seems to have a fatalistic and jaded approach to life. While his emotions and responses to many things vary in an almost manic way, his face usually has a broad grin plastered over it as if he is enjoying whatever it is.. be that skinning a man alive, or trying to coax someone back to his room at the tavern.

Nrungg isn't the largest half-orc around, but he is by no means small. His ugly face usually has a grin filled with sharp and broken teeth taking up it's majority. His body is covered in thick slabs of muscle, which are in turn covered in ugly scars and markings from wounds, new and old alike.

He makes no secret that he arrived in Cear from Dasar, and anyone from Dasar who is familiar with the seedier side of life might recognize him as a slightly known street thug. Not famous by any stretch, but someone you don't exactly want after you, moreso because of whom he worked for. Anyone who spent time in Dasar's penal system may recognize him as one of the countless incarcerated gutterscum.

Azaghal is an elder dwarf set on upholding his long standing tradition of getting into various degees of trouble by way of adventure and exploration. A shrewd traveler and capable warrior he loves a good drink and good company, especially when enhanced by extravagant and exaggerated tales of adventure, fortune and misfortune.

A long way from Safehold, his need for exploration has not yet been satisfied, even in his later years. Though he yearns to see his kin and home once again, he accepts what fate his path offers him. While in Cear he intends to make the best of what he comes across. Though he has no particular love of the Varanite government and their changes, he is learning to live with their annoyance. He obeys their laws with a reluctant huff.

His features are that of a worn traveler, though there is a certain spark of vitality in his eyes and in his expressions. Age has not yet slowed his wit nor his muscles. He takes special care of his outfit and his particularly of his beard, setting it in braids and patterns fashionable among nobles in Safehold.

Though he can be disagreeable and even abrasive towards those he has no fondness for, his friends are treated to healthy doses of jest and laughter.

"Findalis the Third, Squire and Loyal Companion of Sir Thracius The Mighty" is how Findal has introduced himself numerous times, claiming to hail from an island known as 'Arylius'. Findal is mostly occupanied by his Knight, Thracius Trueblade, but has often been spotted without him. Findal is at times witty, other times he's quite blunt, mostly the latter. He also always has a wacky story to tell of his homeland, whether it be Friendly tea-drinking Goblins or Farmer-eating Umberhulks, Findal's got something to say about it.

Findal appears in constant disgust in Cear, and obviously doesn't hold respect for the Empire, despite his attempts to hide it. Although, as per his Knight's request, Findal -tries- to obey the laws of Cear, and usually sticks out of the affairs of the Government. Never has he mentioned why exactly he was in Cear to begin with, and when asked directly, he refuses to talk about it.

Findal is in his early twenties, bares a thick beard on his face, and is carries himself with a confident stride. He wears Chainmail, which is in very good shape, wields a Longsword, sheathed at the waist (which is in equally good shape), and atop his head is an old worn hat, which tries desperately to be 'fancy'. He also has an old flute tucked in his belt and can often be seen playing it in Northern Cear.

Minuvas, or Father Minuvas, as he prefers to be called is a man of ultimate conviction. Issues are black and white, looking to Lochwar to explain the unknown - and failing that, to the Emperor. He is the ideal Citizen of the Modern-Day Empire. Minuvas is not a native Dasarian, he has been born and raised in the very heart of the Empire - exposed to few other cultures other than zealous Human Priests to Lochwar, and Citizens of Lochwar. He himself was raised in a Temple, knowing only the "compassion" of the Lochwar priests - and none of the characteristics of a loving mother or father. Outside thinking is Dangerous, and threatening. People of varying cultures and ideals, in Minuvas' mind are a threat to the hegemony of that which is the Empire. This by no means makes him a racist, believing that anyone true to Lochwar and the Emperor - is on equal grounds to the humans who pay them both service. He has a very well known distaste, for Tieflings - and other half-bloods of the devil variety. Minuvas remains uncomfortable that there are still known lands of populations of humanoid peoples, who do not call themselves Citizens of the Empire - and even more sickened that some are allowed onto Imperial soil.

To those who share his believes, he is a trusted friend - and a wise ally. To those who walk a different path, there is little room even for discussion. He will refuse to hear what you have to say, and will spend his free time trying to "cull" you back into the herd. He is in almost all ways, a Conformist - unquestioning of the laws of the Emperor. His extremities lie only in his duties. Underneath his armor, which by writ of his god he never removes unless he is bathing. You would see that his body is covered in sores, from wearing armor all the time, and tattoo's of the many symbols of Lochwar. Each of these are levels of his conviction to his god.

Minuvas lives with these goals: Purge the Heretics, Clean the Empire of its impurities, punish those who step out of line, expand the Empire until there is no place that does not call the Emperor and Lochwar, their lords.

Ebrim Darkmoon, Rogue Warlock for Hire

Dirty, disheveled, and unkempt are the first three words that often come to mind when describing Ebrim. He looks as if he spends most of his time sleeping in back-alleys, or in barns, or on tavern floors, and this isn't far from the truth: while he does rent a room at the inn, he exhibits a great fondness for drink ("one of Teshalia's sacred rites," he is fond of saying) and habitually drinks until he passes out. Anyone who asks him why will get a long, rambling theological examination on the nobility of excess and offerings to Teshalia. Every once and a while he will add that he doesn't like to dream, but won't elaborate.

While he is usually only moderately dirty, there are times when he goes for long periods of time without bathing, and when this happens his... rich aroma is often mingled with a faint trace of brimstone. When asked about it he blames the dwarves, and refuses to go into the matter any further.

William hails from the countryside of Lendose, a farming and very religious community - most people who live here are devoted followers to the goddess Iaosia, or simply Ki in the Dasarian tongue.

Will was conceived to be prenaturally benevolent from starting out in life as the son of one of Lendose's prodigal priestesses. Yet growing up would prove to be just another chapter in the chain of struggles soon to befall him and all those close to him--starting from the very beginning--when William was born.

In a single distinct event, his mother was attacked by crazed beasts stricken with a rabid disease that had spread in the wild. Despite anything the clergy could do, she eventually died a painful and tragic death. And as an addition to injury, the beloved priestess had been pregnant with her only child; a baby boy delivered with her final breath as a stillborn. Before being burned with his mother's body, the pale babe came alive with its first shrieking breath. His father gone, the infant was taken in by the clergy and raised thereafter as the orphan, William Dearborn.

His mother's illness left him colorblind and with an odd appearance both frail and ghastly, but Will survived through the years of his childhood without further symptoms of The Blight, to the village's great and forbearing concern. However, there is something else... William will stay awake for the rest of his nights, unable to sleep, with a lingering presence like a constant shadow covering his quietest thoughts. He often fears for the worst, that the stain will eventually become a living form of its dormancy and tax his mind and body to meet the same fate as his mother.

Setting off into the world at a tender age, William is now barely into his twenties and has grown in a diverse setting, for the most part on his own. From the holy order of the ancient Whirling Serpents to the shady taverns of Siliron's Crossing, he travels from place to place due to his past experiences and everlasting drive to gain more knowledge and the answer to his constant fear.

Guardsman Raymond Carth is a man whose actions are governed by the holy legal trinity of precepts: Law, Order, and Duty. He is well traveled having been raised by a Lieutenant in the Varanite Imperial Army. When his guardian received orders of a new assignment, Raymond received a new home. Recently he has returned to the place of his birth, remembering nothing of the tragedy that effectively exiled him from Cear.

Raymond Carth never had any intention of joining the City Guard upon his arrival to Cear. However, after seeing the level of lawlessness, nay, the utter contempt for the Law by Citizens and newcomers alike, his sense of Duty overwhelmed him and compelled him to offer his warhammer in service.

The short tenure as Guardsman so far has not been easy for Raymond. Not only frustrated by the continued ignorance of the Law and disrespect for Order demonstrated by the influx of travelers to Cear, Carth is equally disturbed by the behavior of corrupt seasoned guards and misguided new recruits alike. Only Etoth grants him the strength and will to persevere.

Kaz, the dwarf who is nicknamed a "peacemaker", found his way into the Cear through endless wandering in the New Varana Empire. He came down from a small village nestled in the mountains of Kor. His da always pushed him to learn the way of the axe and shield, but Kaz's heart belongs to the study of natural resistance and the way of the fist.He belongs to a small Order within the village studying under his master, who taught Kaz all he could and advised Kaz to seek further knowledge of martial arts elsewhere.

The bald dwarf settled in Cear, waiting for the opening of the Western border to venture further inland in search of more knowledge and wisdom. In his late fifties, Kaz is a warm-hearted dwarf, cares only for fighting evil and helping the poor who obey law and order.

Anyndur Truearrow chose to stay behind during the Rian Exodus. Well, he would like to think it was his choice at least. Anyndur is a Sun Elf seemingly in heritage and bloodline alone. See, he lacks that certain je ne sais quoi that truly makes a Sun Elf a Sun Elf. Racist? Not particularly. Charismatic? He has his moments. A gifted public speaker commanding the awe and respect of audiences far and wide? Hardly.

Who is Anyndur Truearrow? He's certainly a bright fellow and has that level of shyness that often accompanies such a bloated intellect. Sure, he'll open up after a while but usually with the help of his long time traveling companion Slinks. Though, put Anyn in his element and watch out! He is always interested in demonstrating his adroit fingers and mind.

Image

Slinks is not a familiar. He's not a pet nor a demon nor under the curse of a witch doctor. Slinks is a cat and if you call him any of the aforementioned you will not get him to shut up about it. Yes, Slinks is a cat that talks. Blessed with intelligence surpassing that of most humans and divinely gifted with speech, Slinks chooses not to forsake the Gods and treasures every living moment when someone is there to listen.

Slinks is a feisty little fellow and certainly the charismatic yin to Anyndur's introverted yang. You'll find Slinks schmoozing with the locals in North Cear while Anyn is off studying his spellbook or fiddling with his infernal padlock. Just remember if you see Slinks, at the very least grant him the same respect you'd give a H'orc; he's smarter, friendlier, and certainly far cuddlier.

Isabella Quick

Image

The young Bella claims to have seawater in her veins. Her dark hair spills in an untamed riot down her back, her eyes glint with mischief. She dresses with a flamboyant flair, but seems quite unaware of the image she gives off. She can out drink, out cuss, and out fight most of the males she meets. She has the air of a young tomboy who has just begun to notice the power females can have and is quite unsure how to use her charms.

Quite skilled with the light blade she wields, she can be found in the early mornings just practicing her fencing skills in remote locations. Most often she is somewhere off to the side, just watching with curious eyes.

Her moods change like quicksilver, one moment she may be quite friendly, next you may feel the sharp side of her tongue. Once she claims you as a friend, her loyalty is unwavering. Once you get on her bad side, she will use any means necessary to bring you down. Outspoken to the point of rudeness, she will not hesitate to voice her opinions and delights in pointing out the foolishness of others. Many would assume her to be a drunkard, but the wise would see behind the facade is a sharp calculating mind.

Noa Longbane

Image

Noa Longbane is an overenthusiastic young lady. In the past, such enthusiasm has brought her often problems which made Noa to be somewhat of a rural legend in small villages. Broken windows due to spontanously planned grand escapes, burned shacks and houses due to an unintentional pushed candle, this young Lady does not even know of her own reputation, since she is most likely busy searching for treasures or swindling nobles. Full of energy, she laughs often at her own problems and sadly, at some of others. Unlike most ladies of her age, most compliments go in trough one of her ears and go out trough the other.

Tanned skin and eyes of a vivid green, her braided red hair almost reaches her thin waist. Though she has a carefree and naïve attitude about most everything, she may surprise you with unfitting remarks and actions, mostly when feeling uneasy or under pressure.
