Player obstructing use of NPC vendor...

Post by Xavori »

Hi all. Tried to buy something in the smithy shop in the Trade district today, and was unable to do so... it seems like a player left his character afk in front of the vendor, with the dialogue window open, meaning that if you try to speak with said NPC, it says that "it's unable to respond a the time".

Any way to prevent people from doing this, either accidentally or not? I'd really like to buy weapons :?

Perhaps you can shove characters away from the npc? Not sure if it would work, but I'd say it's worth a try. : )

Pickpocket the guy clean, so that he has no money left, and therefore have no reason to use the vendor. '''\(;..; )/'''

Nah. Just leave the body alone for 5 minutes. If they're still like that then you're allowed to field some aggression. I remember there was a person who wasn't moving and was "talking" to Ealden. After about ten minutes I see them back up and say "((Back))".

Needless to say when I saw them again sitting infront of the NPC being afk I had my way with him.

going afk while not in the store but still in the talk session. isnt considered rightly behaviour, just wait 3 minutes as i've had some bug where it just wont continue ( might be lag releated) but if they refuse to move, letts see if the npc will continue with a dead guy.

Killing him wont fix it.

The *only* way to fix it, rather than getting him to come back from AFK, is killing the NPC and waiting for respawn... Obviously - never do it.

Oh yes it does, I've killed a few people doing that, and was able to continue my conversation with the npc.

Woe to the person keeping me from my quests
