I think stealth is working. Rhode was hiding in the farmlands when someone walked by and he started talking to them. They apparently couldn't see him until he came out of hiding.

So maybe this has been fixed on this regard.....

But invisibility remains broken

I'm still convinced stealth is somewhat broken, but I finally saw someone who was neutral to me today.. who went completely stealthed. No faded through character, no black ipod silhouette. Completely hidden.. although the character in question had Hide in Plain Sight along with a very high hide skill which may account for it actually working on neutral people.

Great news that the hiding appears to be working, but it shouldnt function depending on the people's ranks
If you make a sucessfull roll, with 1 Hide/1lvl Rogue or HIPS/10 Rogue 10 SD, you're hidden!
There shouldnt be semi-hidden...almost-hidden...not even close-hidden and so on

Yeah. So Spot is useless?

Maybe you misunderstood me...Spot isnt useless. If you have it high enough to detect a hidden PC, you now SEE her/him and can perform an attack on her/him.

The whole point is that you(the real person) shouldnt see anything that your character can't see

Just to add to what's been posted... I have with buffs 30 hide and move silently, and I'm being seen by everyone. Hell, I was standing near these level 1/2s outside the town and they said, "Uh, can we help you?". Well, imagine my surprise. I think invisibility might actually afford a bit more cover... but being spotted by every constantly even when invis and high ranked in hide/silently is frustrating.

From what I've tested, unless you have "hide in plain sight" you actually need to go out of seeing distance. Be that behind a closed door where someone hasn't explored -or- just far away enough to where their form disapears from your screen. Transitioning while hidden also makes you hidden to everyone after the transition..

With 25/25 hide/move silent I've snuck about and folk with very low spot and listen haven't seen me. There's always a chance anyone standing still can hear me however because you get +5 to listen checks when standing still, or if you have 5 spot..

Not sure if neutrals get a perma take 20 vs spotting hidden people and those you have set to hostile need to actually roll high enough.

Dont forget stealth works 2 ways Hide vs Spot and Move Siently vs Listen, from what I can tell if you are noticed by either way, you will be noticed, so to keep hidden make sure both are good.
I am not sure how you will appear, but I'd say the ghost look was coded so you would know where your stealthed party members are in single player. Whether that makes it a bug or not is up to what you think.

The testing I've gone through neither hiding or invisibility (spell) will make you disappear to another player. It didnt matter how high their hide/ms skill was (my spot/listen were both 2), I could see them.

I'm pretty sure its a bug, and OE has to fix it...

Funny thing about that, since I have encountered instances where they DID vanish until we partied together. Something about stealth is totally borked and it can't decide if it's working or not.

I'm not sure if being hostile helps at all... but turning invisible has not yet removed me from the site of a PC enemy. Kind of sucks for roleplay, you're lurking in the shadows... spying... some level 1 drow named "DrizztII" comes up, "can i hav sum gold plz?".

Did you hide before entering the other players range of view?
Unless you got HIPS..then this wouldnt be an issue

As PrimalSign said, i'm pretty sure stealth is working at least in some situations, but cant decide if its really fixed.
