Lochwar Temple - Thrall's Gate
Kilrux enters the temple. Those leaving cringe as they pass him, the despairing aura that lingers with his dark soul seems even more potient within the temple.
"Father Minuvas," Kilrux nods his head a little in respect and scatters a few coins into the donation box. "I need to speak with you..."

Kilrux follows Minuvas into the banquet hall.
"I have come to seek your guidence Father Menuvas," Kilrux seems a little uncomfortable with asking for help, "you see, as of late, I've found myself and my faith to have taken me to a whole new level. Inside. I feel... different. It is as if, like a man of the cloth, I can feel and fuel of Lockwar's power." Kilrux lowers his voice, "I was wondering if you possessed the skill to train me, focuss this untapped power so That I may become..." Kilrux, aware of 'their' reputation checks to make sure the room is empty before saying, "a Blackguard of Lockwar under the offical order."

She kneels before the alter in the newly adorned red robes of the Neophyte. Head bowed slightly she mumbles her words quickly and fertively, a mere whisper mingling with the quiet shuffle of the faithful.
Through the robes, unseen by any who might look, she clasps the small chained stone as a tear leaks across her cheek from the corner of a tight shut eye.

Sirius enters the church, and behind him followed two men, each carrying ornate chests, of reddish-brown wood and with golden plated iron framework.
By now Sirius was a familiar site in the church, and he was immediately greeted by a number of neophytes, who kindly hurried him through the church and into the quarters of Father Minuvas.
Sirius gestured to the men behind him and the chests were handed over to a couple of neophytes, who immediately took it off to be counted. Minuvas was nowhere to be seen, and after a few minutes of waiting, the two neophytes returned, "A substantial donation my lord - 50 Emperors if we reckoned correctly", "Aye - tell the Father I was here if you please" Sirius said, looking around curiously, "Thank you" he said, shifting his focus back to the neophyte with whom he was conversing. "And good day". With that, Sirius and his company left the church, and headed south towards Cear on horseback.
OOC: I haven't seen you IG for a while Minuvas, but if we run into each other on IRC at some point, we can arrange for the transfer of the gold to yourself or one of the Maidens (or Neophytes). Thanks. And the amount may increase to 75/80, depending on what time you happen across me really, my wealth fluctuates a lot.

Sirius Calasthere: A travelling mage.
A young woman enters the temple, her head held high as she surveys the interior with ice blue eyes. Her red hair is is piled on top her head and fixed into place with golden combs. Her robes are simple, but elegant, the embroidery exquisite . As one of the acolytes approaches, she waves a bejeweled hand in dismissal. She proceeds to look around the place with an expression best described as aristocratic disdain.
An armored older man escorts her, his facial features betraying no emotions. As she turns her disgusted glance to him, a small smirk flickers over his features as he awaits her tantrum.
"I suppose this is the best this bucolic backwater province has to offer?" The voice is cold, but smooth as silk. Only one with her since birth would notice the slight quaver to the tone signaling her emotional state.
The male arches a brow and responds, his tone dry and no nonsense. "Hush, now. You know this is important to your family."
The young woman turns her back to him, her nostrils flaring in annoyance and her mouth set in a stubborn line. "The services had best be up to my standards."
The male chuckles as he surveys his surroundings. "Oh I am certain they will be." He follows her as she makes her way to the first pew in front of the alter, his stern gaze deterring any that would approach her. The male does hail one of the acolytes as they pass and in a quiet tone demands to know about the security of the roads, possible threats and the defenses of the area. The young woman merely sits with her head held impossibly high and her posture unfailing correct.

*Minuvas can't help but watch as this arrogant woman enters her Church, her complete disdain for her surroundings is extremely apparent in her face.
He notices the older man, not a possibility for that to be a Husband or a Father - he was too old to be married to her, and the distance he kept when he walked was more as if he was surveying the area.
He could only crack his knuckles, as he watched the woman openly insult the appearance of the Church - which Minuvas has spent extensive time keeping in pristine order for The Patriarchs temporary stay.
He grumbles to himself that if the woman wanted the luxuries of comfort and glamour - she should go to the Trade area of Caer, not look for it in a humble Church to the Lord of God's*

The female listens attentively to the services, from time to time nodding her head at what the priest is preaching. At the conclusion, she rises gracefully and makes a deep bow to the alter before making her way to the numerous bookshelves.
The male follows and again stops one of the acolytes to inquire where was the best lodging to be had, who sold the best supplies and the name of the Captain of the guards. As her companion gets his answers the female peruses the shelves, a long fingered hand caressing the tomes as she would precious objects.

The blood on his hands began to stain the rag cloth Minuvas was using to polish the floors of the temple. One might wonder how long his blistered hands had spent scrubbing each speck of dirt located on every brick of stone. Even more of a mystery, was if at this point the rags could even be considered cleanly at all - stained with blood and dirt from hours of scrubbing.
None dared to tell him to stop, he worked with a passion - as if to approach him with anything other than the most dire of emergenices would envoke a wrath that would likely cause you your life, or worse.
As was common with Priests of Lochwar, it was considered appropriate to undertake the lowliests of tasks in the Church every now and then to remind oneself the value of hard-work, discipline, and status.
Finally, he lifted himself up and with a with a swift motion took the sweat clean off his brow.
Just as he finished, the Church bells rang - and the crowd hurridly entered. Nodding in respect to Minuvas, as their muddy boots - dirty clothing, and other commoners hygene woe's all found their way back onto the floor. They sat amongst seats as one of the Senior Neophytes directed the day's procession.
Minuvas waited for the crowd to pass, then returned to his knee's - the crimson blood of his blisters often filling in the small crannies of chipped stone. A crimson sacrifice for the Lord of God's, a drink most satisfying.
Something clearly troubled the Father.

A large hustle and bustle can be seen amongst the Church, as a Talon Commander and Captain stride out of the building.
Minuvas is angrily barking orders at the Neophytes of the Church, who seem to be inspecting and documenting every nook and cranny of the building.
Other members of the Church begin to account for every item in their possession in writing, as the paper piles up on Minuvas' desk.
This commotion seems to be endless, even Minuvas pulls out parchment and is seen weighing and measuring items removed from the Church storage room.
He sets aside a special package of tea, as he says "Seal it, Authorize it, package it and send it to where the Commander is staying - immediately and make sure to not embarrass me Neophyte".

Glancing about the pews of the Temple, Father Willis walked slowly. His gaze took in the faces of the flock in detail as he paced the the aisle way. As was his tendency in the missions in the lands of the Telkhmar, he toiled at great lengths to be familiar with the names and needs of those who would call him their shepherd.
A light tugging on his ceremonial robes caused him to stop and look downward. His eyes met with a pair of large doe-like eyes staring back up at him.
"Pwaise be to Wockwaw," said the tiny girl... easily no older than 6 years old. The young girl smiled up at the aging priest, as if she'd been practicing for days, and then looked to her father for approval.
Father Willis returned the child's smile with on of his own before nodding to the girl's father, "It seems Helena here shall be our next Maiden of the Mace, hmm?"
The girl's father beamed with pride at this comment, and immediately locked his girl in a tight embrace, "T'would be an honour, Father Willis. Ye know I'd be proud f'me daughter t'be a beacon o' faith an' 'oliness like ye'self."
The priest reached forth with a hand and lightly tipped Helena's chin up. As he examined the girl's face and looked deeply into her eyes, he quietly whispering a holy incantation. As the incantation finished, a voice in the back of his mind spoke to Father Willis... Keep an eye on this one. She may usher in the next generation of the faithful. Lochwar be praised.
"You have naught to worry about, sir," he finally replied to the expectant father of Helena, though his eyes did not stray from the face of the young girl. "Bring Helena to the Temple to see Father Minuvas on the morrow. I believe we shall have much to discuss about her future, and her role in the salvation of the souls of this land."
After a slight pause, Helena's father nodded enthusiastically, and assured Father Willis that they would see the two priests on the morrow. Father Willis merely closed his eyes slowly and uttered, "Praise be to Lochwar, Lord of the Gods," before continuing on with his pacing.

Father Willis stood at the threshold to the Temple with his arms folded in his robes glancing about the crossroads. Despite the warmth and comfort the tea had brought him, his face darkened. The information he had hoped to glean from Master Roggins had eluded him. Certainly he would find what he was looking for in time, but until then, he would wait patiently... a discipline possessed by very few he had encountered in his time. "Patience is indeed a virtue," he thought.
Looking up from the ground, he looked around at the bustling guards and farmers, always keeping one eye on the road to North Cear. He waited.

He smiles as the good Father remains vigilant, Minuvas seems to have a tendency to catch Willis when he's least prepared.
"Staring Off into the distance are we..?"
Minuvas smiled "Caer is a rat-hole, to the other Priests - that is a challenge. Some might want to live in the lap of luxury, living in a quiet town in the Capital of the Empire.
Ahh but not Caer. This Heretic infested plague bloated city...this is a place to carve our Lord's name, to Brandish it into the forehead of every heretic. To butcher every man woman and child who dare speak against his name.Sleeping on a stone floor with just enough food for rations, and all the luxuries removed. Servitude to the lord Lochwar at its finest." he let out a huff of self-accomplishment, before he moved to the other side of Father Willis.
"I am sure we all come to appreciate hard-work, and self-determination - and we should be the ushers of these wills towards the people."
He paused for a moment before heading into the temple "Which reminds me, I do hope to see reimbursement for those coins at the Tavern - after all, those were Church coins."
Minuvas laughed for a moment "Come now...you couldn't think I actually had any wealth of my own"

Minuvas laughed for a moment "Come now...you couldn't think I actually had any wealth of my own"
Minuvas stood before the Altar.
The temple was filled today, standing room only - and that was well accounted for.
Minuvas was by no means disappointed that when he had taken the personal time to the day's sermon that the Temple filled to hear it. If at anything, it fed his ego, but it made him feel like his message would be heard this day.
He opened a page of the Iron Tenets which stood by his side "Todays lesson my children, is of obedience.
I am a community member, amongst you all. I see the sinful and good habits that often engulf us, or inspire us.
Yet I am trouble...troubled greatly by what I see amongst us my children"
The crowd jeered "What Father! Is Lochwar Angry with us..."
He replied in his feigned sympathetic tone, "I do not know my children. He may be, after seeing the things that I have seen.
I have seen Citizens calling Dark-Skins their companions. They are a lesser breed my children, vile and unlawful. Cursed by Lochwar.
I have seen far-worse even. Heathens walk amongst us, and we give them too much tolerance. They call themselves Cuhannans. You all know of them.
The Emperor requires us to -tolerate- them, but he did not say we had to like them - my Children. They are Heretics and Blasphemers , plain and simple. They speak of their Gods as if they were real, do not entertain them.
We do not have the right to cast stone upon them, but we should cast upon them the Shadow of Scorn. Remind the Cuhannans that we are the superior culture, the Superior people. "
The Crowd Rustled, "If you wish proof of their heresy. You need only look upon them. They speak differently from us, they look different from us.
I even know on good accord that they suffer from the many ailments of the Cursed gods. Rel blinds many of the Sand-Rats, the many curses of the god's upon them.
Soon those Curses shall be upon us too my children..."
"No! No!" The crowd shouted, "It cannot be. How can we be saved!"
He held his hand up "People, Citizens, Friends, my Children. We can be saved only through faith. Are we not the children of Canas, blessed of all. Chosen by Lochwar?
Scorn not his blessings, for they are many. We all have a place in these lands. My place is to help guide you my citizens, to educate the unfortunate, and to smite the Heretics.
And what is your place? What have YOU done to prove your worth to Lochwar?
Have you allowed blasphemes to occur before you?
Have you seen offense to the True Church by a Desert Rat, and allowed him to speak in his forked tongue?"
He smiled "The Emperor is wise, and he speaks with Lochwar directly my children. For he knows all, and is master of plots. Do not doubt the Glory that the Emperor plans for these Sand-Rats, but in the meantime - we shall do what we can to remind these people, they are only tolerated.
No one says you must sell them your goods, no one says you must allow them into your home, your inn. Why should you give them food or homage? Do they not offend our Lord, and in Turn - the Emperor himself?
The Cuhannans have a forked tongue like the Drow, I often wonder if they are cousins.
I assure you, it is not a question of IF, but a question of WHEN the terrible might of Lochwar will be brought upon us if we do not scorn these men as they should be.
Ask them to Cover up their false symbols on their clothing, ask them to take their prayer out of public. If they refuse you - get the Guard. They are not Citizens of this Empire, and they are not followers of the True faith. Remind them of this, that they are lesser than us.
The Faith itself is in danger my children, do not doubt the power of heresy in numbers. How many amongst you doubt the word of Lochwar at times?"
One of the 'lower class' Citizens who happened to be drunk at the time, stumbled out in the middle of the sermon"Not I father! Praise Lochwar!"
Minuvas smiled and chuckled lightly at the slightly rude interruption, "Yes! Praise Lochwar indeed. It is good to see such Zeal.Amongst you all. I have faith in Lochwar, and all of you indeed.
But we must provide for our Lord, even if he can provide for us. We are not sloths that used to inhabit these lands. Dasarians as they called themselves, HAH. Crushed like the Roaches they were.
So let me quote this verse from the Tenets, to leave you with today's Sermon.
"[...] When the banners of false gods are plunged into the sky as if they were victors, my wrath will be both terrible - and bloody. I will slay all who have opposed me, and bring like a chariot of death insufferable punishment to any and all associated with these god's."
Canas Conscriptus Paragraph 18:3. He closed the book.
He looked up at the crowd " Be inspired my children and remember today's lesson. You are Varanite, You are Proud, not some lesser breed of people. Count Lochwar's blessing for this, let him be with you in all your endeavors.
Praise Lochwar!"
The hall returned Minuvas with "Praise Lochwar!" as they shuffled to speak with the Priest personally or exit the Temple to return to other tasks, each was greeted with a smile, a handshake and small conversation before the hall was finally cleared.
