Spells disappearing from quickslots
I'm not sure if other people are having the same problem as me, but 80-90% of my spells disappear from the quick slot bar when my character transitions, dies or logs out.
I understand that this has been reported to Obsidian, but I can't find any post on when this will be fixed. One must wonder what the Beta Testers were doing at Obsidian or Atari...playing World of Warcraft perhaps?

They are disappearing from the quickslot bar. I tried putting them on bar 1 and bar 2 and they still keep disappearing. I also enabled the optional horizontal hot bar and they disappear from there as well.Mon-da-oth wrote:Are they missing or is the bar just changing to a different number? ie. switching back to 1 instead of staying on 2.
What I have found is that, but haven't verified, is that the first spell I put on the quick bar, stays there. However subsequent spells will disappear.

I had a problem very, very much like this for a while - mostly with spells, but also with a few abilities that I would drag onto the quickbar, and with any quickslotted icons that I had moved since originally placing them in the bar.
I did devise a solution, and though it's a little unweiledy, it works.
Try this:
When you're slotting spells, don't drag them from the memorized list or the quickcast bar. Those spells are impermanent, and what you're doing is tying your quickslots to items that are prone to being removed, reduced, or blanked out by the game engine for any number of reasons (respawning, loading, level loss, ability score decrease, etc). Many times, this will result in the spells disappearing from your quickbar after NWN2 "loses" the original reference, much like a stack of potions does once you've drank them all.
Instead, drag the spells you wish to use directly from the spellbook.
The logic behind this is that the spellbook icons will always be there once you've learned them, no matter what...so the game will never have any reason to mistakenly remove them from your quickslots.
These points of reference will always be static.
I started doing this weeks ago, and while it's a wee bit more annoying to set up initially, it's worth it in the long run because you only have to set the slots up ONCE.
I haven't had a spell disappear on me since.
Finally, it's worth mentioning that this will also happen sometimes when you move things from one place to another on the quickbar. Either one or the other will disappear, or - more often - you'll end up with a duplicate of the icon you moved: one in the original position, one in its new location.
Why this happens, I haven't a friggin' clue.
Just make sure you put things where you want them the first time, or if you absolutely need to move something, drag it off the quickbar entirely and start over.

Hey it works me!dallbee wrote:Hope it works out for you!SnorriHT wrote:Thank you for the reply Dalbee,
I'll give it a go tonight
If it does, post back here so we have a verifiable account of how to fix this, k? (besides one guy just saying, "Hey, it works for me!")

I rolled up a new character and dragged the spells from the spell book. The spells stayed in the quickslots.
I have a feeling that the previous problems could either be related specifically to the warlock class, or were just a latency issue.
Thanks once again.

This is an Obsidian bug which is suppose to be fixed in 1.05.

Aswell as the quickslot problem, sometimes when my mage rests he doesn't get his spells back. For different adventures different spells have to be used and the way Dallbee said to temporarily reduce this problem is most tiersome to do especially when in party and they are all waiting for you.

"When faced with important decisions it's a 90% chance your initial choice is right for you."
