Doh~ Eve, when you get your pc back and hop in IRC just do this..
Anytime you think of changing your nick to Evelond_bored, change it to Evelond_studying and go do your homework.
Good luck amigo. Im sure youll be back in the saddle in no time at all. A smart kid like you probably has to do little more than pay attention in class to do well. Pay Attention!

Here's a question to pose to your parents.
Ask them if they realize that grades in middle school mean absolutely nothing. So long as you don't fail and get held back (and even then schools are hesitent to hold kidss back) whats the harm?
Oh sure you may need to work a little harder in highschool if you miss some things, but you know what? You should be trying hard in highschool anyway since that actually matters.

I'm always right. I'm also a jerk. It's not my fault you can't get over the latter to see the former.

I would advise against asking them this. It will probably only serve to extend your absence from Dasaria!broncoblitz wrote:Here's a question to pose to your parents.

I disagree that grades in middle school mean nothing. Yes eventaully they mean nothing to the outside world... you will have other achievements that trump them. But The grades will always mean something to you. It will feel incredibly good looking back at what you achieved, and it is about proving to yourself that you have the discipline.
DO IT. Dasaria will be just waiting for you afterwards. You will respect yourself more sitting down to play having put the hard yards into your school. Dont do it because your parents make you. Do it becuase you want to.

I disagree too, as well as on your other point, but would like to strongly emphasise the discipline aspect. These earlier years are all about getting you in the mindset for studying at the end of high school. The marks mean nothing, the only thing you need to take with you is your own method of study.I disagree that grades in middle school mean nothing. One which hopefully includes spontaneous leisure time.

Even people who screw up highschool can turn out okay later in life. School is something to get you started and it's a must to finish it but -how- you finish it is up to you.
I agree with Bronco, to be honest. Who cares if you finish highschool with nothing but so-so grades. What counts is that you have the paper. There's no boss ever going to ask you what grades you had for maths...
And about teaching yourself to learn; yeah in a way that's true. School's about learning discipline. But I learned from firsthand experience that schools can really mess up on the disciplinepart. Expecially when the students is as motivated as a ball of hay. It's on the workfloor where you learn what discipline and responsibility is. A paycheck is a way better motivation then a pile of books. Maybe you'll regret afterwards that you partied during your whole schoolcarreer, but hey; at least you did. And it was fun, right?
It's been said before and I -have- to repeat it ; don't do drugs, mmmkay? (mwheheh) Other then that, anything goes. Aslong as you take responsibility (Gggyeah, sif.)
Show 'em Hell Eve, don't be afraid to come back =D
