non-existant character on log in

I am suffering quite a lot with the PW transition crash at the moment, but I appear to have another problem related to it.

Often when I log in immediately after a transition crash I am able to log in OK, but my character doesnt appear in the game world. the 'invisible' character will move about using the w a s and d keys, and occasionally using the cursor, but this movement is very random. I have no choice but to exit the game and try to log in again. I only get this problem playing online.

is this just part of the PW transition crash or something else? Does anyone have any idea how to deal with this?

Never heard of this issue before. Is it just on Dasaria, or does it happen on other PWs too?

I have had this problem, but going back through the transition seems to fix it.

wyvern, I have only had this problem on dasaria2, but I havent played very much elsewhere, so that might be coincidence.

my internet connection is not very reliable, I am in th Arabian Gulf ('Persian Gulf' for our American cousins ) the link is supposed to be 256kbps, but sometimes the upload speed is only 10% of that I suspect that is a big part of the problem.

Velve, thanks for the tip, I'll see if this works. I am crashing on about three in four transitions so it may just be quicker to exit and re-log.

I am getting impatient for the 1.06 fix thats supposed to rectify the PW crashing bug, but then I guess everyone is.

I had a weird bug once where I appeared in the trades and commons before the progress bar had finished loading. I too was partially visible, and could walk around. About 30 seconds later, it finished loading and then I materialized at the point I had walked to. Maybe this is something like that, but more reproducible.

Sounds odd. Might be some odd latency bug, I'm not sure. I've no idea how to even start to debug it either.
