Pick my new character!

Post by Lord Zhengyi »

I have been considering a new character lately so I thought I would let the players decide what it will be. Help me decide by choosing one of the ideas from the poll. Thanks! :D

I'd like to see a character who is the unflinching, and unbending Champion of Lochwar, with the holy symbol tattoed to his forehead. A character that would make Guardsman knock their knees together in fear when he talked to them, and make Inspector Darius crap his pants at the mere thought of his presence.

This character would only eat breakfast cereal shaped as little fists, and thinks that mercy is allowing a sinner to repent, before crushing their skull with a Warmace.

Aside from the Cereal ( I don't eat Cereal, I just eat Iron) you almost described my character to the Tee :P

It would be a fun to RP, without all the issues associated with EOTS etc. I seriously thought about it playing such a character. However to play such a character well would require a serious amount of research into the Church of Lochwar, as well as belonging to the Church of Lochwar faction. Finally there would be a level of intensity of roleplay that I personally could not have been unable to sustain over a long period of time.

However if anyone did play a Champion of Lochwar well, it could really fan the embers of rebellion, as well as being insane amounts of fun being a pain in the neck, but also the L-A-W

I would be willing to provide people with any information who would like to join the Church of Lochwar faction.

Since if I have written most, if not all, of the doctrine/lore involving the Varanite God we know as Lochwar ( I have had nothing to do with Druaga. Who I'm sure was a Kinder, Gentler Lochwar *blushes*) and would love to have some more faction followers.

(As it is, we have a combined total of Four. Two of whom are inactive the past two months). Myself and Maiden Camryn are currently the only active followers of the one True god, Lochwar almighty :).

 But at least Minuvas has human qualities that make him such a great personality...until he breaks people's necks in cold blood

Ahhh...but you miss my point, Marine. What better conflict than the sliver between being a fanatic and being a zealot? if you read into the wonderful Information provided by minuvas, The Church of Lochwar is not an organisation of automatons, but consists of various groups with different views of delivering the Faith to the masses.

Even if you or Zhengyi didn't want to play a Champion of Lochwar, an overzealous champion of Etoth or Culnul would be fun as well.

Letting people choose for you seems like a bad idea to me, I like my characters to have motives, a disposition and reflect human qualities in some way (usually flaws, e.g. my main, Sirius, is pretty arrogant (clearly) and is somewhat militant and overzealous, but has good intentions), and then I choose a class, I do it in reverse compared to some people, but I like to have an idea of the character before I burden them with classes. I had the idea of Sirius before I knew what class I wanted him to be, though it was a pretty easy decision considering I have only ever played three builds regularly (pure wiz, paladin (with DC in NWN2), and fighter/rogue). And my characters always end up reflecting me to a degree, I'm sure many people do the same but don't realise it.

You should definately go with the monk that speaks in riddles. I've yet to seen that kind of character played well, and it would be interesting addition to dasaria. More riddles is always good.

We need more snobby elves! All I've met are hippies
Moreover, I advise that Carthage must be destroyed.

Why not play all of them and see which one becomes your favourite?

Ahhhh... no more Minuvas clones!

A guy is walking around a corner. Minuvas clone nr.1 spots him "Heretic!! Pay up or be killed!". The guy pays up.

Same guy walks around the next corner. Minuvas clone nr.2 spots him "Heretic!! Pay up or be killed!". The guy pays up.

Same guy walks around the yet another corner. Minuvas clone nr.3 spots him "Heretic!! Pay up or be killed!". The guy has no more gold and now sits in the gaol waiting for his daily 15 minutes of sunbeam.

Hmmm.. you get the point, see the thread about rogues and road agents :P :D
