Dragoon-
Ok. I found a melee build in the "Epic Character Builders part Deux" forum that is a bit unique which I consider quite the "spearman" dragoon type. It's basically a strength based duelist that uses heavy armor + a spear with a full 10 duelist levels for +2d6 damage, infinite haste (via Improved Reaction), and a "flurrish" move every 2 rounds for 2d6 more damage. It also makes great use of feats like power attack and improved power attack since it always uses a two handed weapon, and can even disarm quite well since it has full BAB and a large weapon. The build goes like this:
Fighter 8 (imp focus, specialization) Duelist 10 (+2d6 precise strike, improved reaction, +10 to parry) and 2 barbarian (uncanny dodge, 10% move, rage). You can go for a dwarf, a human, a half-orc, or even a duergar if you ditch the last 2 barbarian levels. I'd recommend human for the bonus feat, skills, and appropriateness RP-wise to the mod.

Spears aren't a light or one-handed piercing weapon.Precise Strike wrote:At 5th level, the duelist gains the ability to strike precisely with a light or one-handed piercing weapon, gaining 1d6 piercing damage. This only works against enemies vulnerable to critical hits. Precise Strike is automatically in effect when the duelist has no off-hand weapon or shield. At 10th level, the damage increases to 2d6.
You could play upon the "jump" aspect of the character by using the smite ablity from one of the following classes; divine champion, paladin, or blackguard. I think the Divine champion fits the best, only thing that really sticks out is the lay on hands and you could just opt not to use it.
Possable builds...
*human* 5 fighter, 5 weapon master, 10 divine champion
12 fighter, 6 divine champion, 2 frenzied bezerker
And was thinking something using the duelist class due to the fact that the dragoon seems more dex or intel based as the duelist is. Not sure if it would work out though as you are trying to use a 2 handed spear. Monkey grip perhaps? would have to play test it some for the duelist.
Anywho just some ideas, take em or leave em. Good luck.
