Whats Yours, Is Mine.
Whats Yours, Is Mine.
The night was foggy, the many foot-steps approaching the building out in the middle of the misty field were accompanied by all sorts of night howls and sounds from the local wilderness.
One heavily armored man approached the door, his armor was Dark Maroon , and his helmet covered his entire face.
He held a torch in one hand and he knocked on the Door "Open up. By order of the Exemplar Knights of Lochwar, my name is Sergeant Turin - we demand entrance"
Silence. The man knocked one more time "Open the door, by order of the Exe.."
Another man strode forward, taller than the first man. He was less built than the seasoned warrior, but he exhumed an aura of combat. "Sergeant...I have no time for this. I want the door opened, he had his opportunity to comply"
"As you wish, Father"
The Sergeant motioned to two other men, who battered their shoulders into the door until it broke open. The Exemplars hurridly entered the room, swords drawn.
As they looked around, the tall figure paced slowly into the room. He strapped his shield on his arm, and a mace into his other hand "Sergeant...take your men and search the basement. I'll look upstairs...you know what to do if you find him"
"Yes Father" he saluted, and shouted "You heard the Father! Lets go men!"
They ran into the basement.
The room was now quite, the Priest carried no torch and the room was now covered in a thick darkness.
His footsteps were anything but silent, and every iron-clad thump of his foot as he walked up the stairs resonated as he made his way up.
When he got on the second floor, there were three doors.
He slowly walked in front of the first one.....*crack* the heel of his boot was soon through the door, splintered wood now scattered across the floor.
Nothing....inside door one.
He turned in a military fashion, made his way in front of the second door. He placed his hand against the door, and it seemed to glow lightly - then disintegrate into ash.
Nothing....
He turned one more time before door three. He placed his hand against the door knob...and turned it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sweat poured heavily off the man's forehead, the soldiers behind him being led by someone he should never have trusted.
His red priestly robes did not help him, as he then saw what appeared to be an abandoned home in the wilderness. Perhaps he could hide there...
He ran inside, bolted the door behind him. Soon there was a knock on the door "In the name of the Knights Exemplar of Lochwar..." he didn't bother to hear the rest, he ran upstairs and lept into one of the rooms.
He heard the door being broken below him, and the mumbling of men. A large amount of footsteps seem to run off, and he began to relax for a bit. The silence was comforting.
Then he heard it. *Clink......Clink.....Clink* he knew who it was, and the slow thumping of his metal chains of his armor and his boots seemed silent compared to the sound of his beating heart. The sweat pouring from him seemed to soak his robes, the small Ankh of Lochwar over his chest that was embroidered in began to become soggy.
The boots stopped for a moment, perhaps he'd given up?
He heard a door break open. He should have known better. His breathing quickened, he knew this would end in only one way. He'd seen this fate in a vision, perhaps it was a warning from Lochwar - or a vision of his end. He did not know.
He grabbed the warmace strapped behind his back, and crawled out from where he was hiding standing behind his door.
A small flash of light came from under the door, a spell was unleashed nearby.
The clink of the boots slowly made its way to the door, and it stopped.
The pause seemed to be for a long time.....
Then suddenly, the knob turned...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
When he openned the door, he tried to prevent himself from wincing when he saw the large ankh of Lochwar embroidered upon the man's chest.
The man spat "Father ..."
He grinned "Patriarch..."
"How long did you think you could go on preaching such false ways...Patriarch. Your way is not the way..."
He growled "Father Minuvas, you are a cruel man. It would be an honor to smite you here, in the name of Lochwar himself"
The room seemed to cackle with wind and energy, a swirling amount of divine energy rose up into the Patriarchs hands and his hammer began to glow with a white-hot energy. His robes spun in the wind, as Minuvas watched on in perhaps, awe, fear, or maybe arrogance.
Soon the cackling energies in the room swirled around The Patriarchs warmace, by now you could hear the men on the bottom floor shouting to run up to assist Minuvas.
"Now you will see, the true Strength of Lochwar. " with what strength the Patriarch had, he seemed to push off his back-foot with blinding speed, his warmace in hand.
The warmace came at blinding speed.....
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The strength of his swing, he thought would be unmatched. He used all of his energies and strength, the swing was violent and powerful. But his warmace was stopped dead-cold, caught in Minuvas' very hand.
"You've fallen from the graces of the God's...old man. Your way is the way of the past...I am the future of this Church, of these people."
Minuvas arm shook only slightly, the cackling energies of the Warmace seemed to be slowly dying out as the sweat beaded off of the Patriarchs forehead.
In shock, he lifted the warmace quickly out of his hand for another swing - but his jaw was quickly met with the iron knee thrusted by Minuvas, and before his body could even hit the ground Minuvas' hammer had cracked him again across his chest.
His warmace fell from his hands, and as he flew through the air - smacking into a wooden drawer ,he hit the floor and the blood splattered from his mouth.
At this point, the Sergeant burst into the room "Father Minuvas are you -"
The Exemplar had looked on the floor, shocked to see the Patriarch so easily dispatched. Minuvas quickly captured the moment "Let this show you that he has fallen from Lochwar's graces. I want him shackled, and placed into the upper tiers of Thrall's Gate Church. You speak of this to no one...The Patriarch is sick and bed-ridden...am I understood"
Without hesitation the Sergeant responded "Yes Sir...."
"I want all of his belongings from his original quarters in the Church moved, there you will find the original articles of Heresy that I found under his bed. Swords, Armors, Shields all bearing symbols of False God's..hold onto them for evidence"
The Patriarch might of attempted to protest, but as he tried to speak words - he found that his lungs had little breath to make a noise. Soon there were shackles on his legs, and his arms. His robe was removed and he was placed in beggars clothing, the Crimson cloth fluttered to the ground.
Minuvas walked over, picked up the cloth and tucked it neatly into his pack. He placed his mace back over his shoulder with his shield.
He looked around the room, and then closed the wooden door. As he walked away..the door fell of its hinge, and onto the floor.
One heavily armored man approached the door, his armor was Dark Maroon , and his helmet covered his entire face.

Also well written Minuvas. I think this is an interesting twist I was almost expecting. I was imagining it would be later than sooner. So you've surprised me a bit.))

((roflmao... that's is amusing Kelly.Kell wrote:ooc: Utu and Girru are pussies >.> Nothing like having Alinkahar on your arse because you spraypainted "KELL WAS HERE!" all over his temple. Now there's something you don't want.
Imagine this scene, you and a generally good aligned party tear through a temple of Alinkahar, and then touch a strange statue. Suddenly Nergal shows up, basically to say: "Yo, thanks for freeing my wife, I owe you one."
Oh, and Minivus, don't know about an avatar of Utu, but I've seen the avatar of Girru before. So there are no lies here, do I look like I'm the follower of the "Master of Plots."
Oh, speaking of that, I do like how well this was thought out, it very much seems like the way succession would go in a Lawful Evil deity's order, expecially one that is know to be "Master of Plots." My real question is were those items of "false" gods really in the Patriarch's possession, or did Minivus plant them?
