Pylia blushed and looked down at the signet ring set with emeralds. "Draco finally made it official." She smiles at Latishe, her angelic face alight with joy. "While we did discuss the future often and I did know it was coming, I must confess to being completely emotional when he formally asked for my hand."
Pylia chuckled her eyes shining impishly. "I do believe my poor Draco was most confused when my first reaction was to dissolve into tears." The bard's eyes glowed and her cheeks flushed even more. "However his mind was most relieved after a kiss."

Latishe stiffens at the mention of Draco, and silently chastises herself This is Pylia's day. Do not spoil it with your own petty insecurities.
Latishe smiles at Pylia with joy. "Pylia, I am so happy for you, congratulations and my best wishes to both of you"
"Isn't it wonderful Maeve? and Chia?"
Latishe then smiles and looks at the seated Chia holding her cup of tea, and then glances at the the razor sharp dagger pointed against Chia's kidney, but unseen by the seated Maeve and Pylia. Be nice to Pylia was the communicated thought.

Maeve's lips curled into a pleasant smile as she brought a cup of tea to her lips, enjoying the flavour of the warm substance. She looked to Latishe and then Pylia, her voice soft and silvery on the air.
"I think it is most wonderful. I was elated when they told me the news. They are perfect for each other and look out for one another fiercely. They have my blessings and those of the god I serve."
Maeve ran a finger over a silver ring encircling a finger her right hand. The ring was decorated with a silver net and a falcon. Her hand twitched slightly, moving to her hip. She tried again to rest it on the hilt of her sword, a move of habit. An amused look crossed her features when she realized it wasn't there. I'll get used to this...perhaps.
"Pylia, if you do need a hand with anything in the coming months, I'd be glad to offer my aid."

Enjoying the taste of a well brewed tea and listening with interest to the ongoing exchange, the tiefling's lips seemed to move for a moment to form an unconscious, and luckily unvoiced, thought.
Poor guy...
She stiffened at the sounds of approaching footsteps, looking at the door with clear uncertainty, then relaxed again as the unknown walker proceeded past the door.
Shifting restlessly in the chair, she opened her mouth, only to close it after a slightly cross-eyed expression of double-take on whatever was crossing her mind.
Glancing from one person to another, she appeared to force herself into relative stillness, awaiting the development of the conversation.

With the dagger still poised at Chia's kidney, Latishe smiled at Chia. "It is wonderful thing that two people in the world can find love in each other. Pylia is very lucky, isn't she, Chia"
Latishe waited on Chia's response, and with her face communicating the thought Give a little. If a Varanian Noblewoman can do it, so can a halfbreed.

With her head continuously turning not to miss out on anything interesting, or not, Chia suddenly stiffened, looking blankly ahead of her. Slowly and carefully, she leaned back, only to almost immediately straighten back up.
She glanced for a moment at the smiling woman next to her, her own face sharpening in a deeping frown that hideously stretched the wide swatch of her damaged skin.
Suddenly slapping her hands on the table, she rolled over its surface, ignoring the damage to the fine tableware shattering in her passage. Sliding past Pylia, she swiveled, ending in a half-crouch on the floor, glaring in Latishe's direction as her hand searched something about the ankle of her right leg.
The crashing of Chia's abandoned chair against the floor did nothing to soften the delivery of her objection.
"HEY!"

Maeve blinked, her gaze lingered on the broken dish ware and crushed food and then to Chia's crouched form. With both hands on placed on the table she lowered her head and thought to herself. Marduk give me the strength to last a little longer...
Pylia's worlds lingered in the air as they waited for an answer.

"What, it's an 'I'll go with two sugars and six inches of steel' party?"
Her eyes, their irises visibly slimmed to a pair of vertical slits, darted from one sitting woman to another. She retained her crouched form, with a right hand resting lightly on the back side of her ankle.
For a moment, just long enough not to miss any signs of danger from the other two women, her gaze turned to Maeve's lowered face. An expression of hurt appeared briefly, then dissolved into thin-lipped and jaw-clenched anger.

Latishe quickly secrets the dagger in the folds of her dress and stalks to the door, the opposite direction Chia's athletic tumble. With her back turned to the Ladies (and Chia), The dagger is deposited amongst some flowers, and a Longsword is pulled out of its scabbard from behind the vase. Latishe then opens the door, brings the longsword up and points it at Chia.
"Get out!" as she gives Chia a look of deadly intent.

Pylia glanced at the other two females in bewilderment before again facing Chia , her expression one best described as comical surprise. In a soft soothing voice she responded to Chia neutrally, her head tilted slightly. "Did you hit your head when you came in through the window, Chia?"
At Latishe's actions following her soft spoken question, her eyes widen slightly. "Oh, dear. This may get ugly."

Maeve's face raised from her prayer for a moment and looked to the three woman. She waited a moment for silence and spoke. Her voice was unyielding and calm as it filtered from her lips with an aura of confidence.
"This is absolutely ridiculous. We have been sitting here, putting up false fronts for over an hour now. Now I have no idea why Chia flew across the table so some information would be well appreciated. From where I stand all I can see is an two angry woman, " She glanced to Latishe and than Chia,
"With intent that is obviously kept from Pylia and myself. This has quickly gotten out of hand. Latishe's beautiful spread is ruined and Chia usually doesn't react like that unprovoked although I know she likes to provoke people herself. If this is some battle between the two of you for female dominance, or who knows whatever else. But I can tell you I won't be part of this pettiness, for I can assure you, my services and those of Tharon are needed else where. I came here in peace, with an offering of friendship, to all of you."
She stood from her chair and folded her arms in front of her.

Latishe stood there, trying to absorb Maeve's words. However she found that she could not reply. Her lips hardened as the Varanian noblewoman re-asserted itself. Thoughts whirled around in her head.
Are you going to let a Halfbreed upstage you? A noble of one of the most ancient houses of Varana?
Chia didn't mean it. And what about Pylia? She deserves better...
Are you going tolerate a Halfbreed inviting herself to high tea, and when you show weakness, she bites back at you like a mongrel dog?
Despite Latishe's best intentions, despite her willingness to forgive and to open her heart, the Talon of Hate had slashed her heart, and her growing Strength to Love bled away.
"Lady Pylia and Lady Maeve, the High Tea is over." Intoned Latishe with courtly formality. "Thank you for your fine company, and I apologise that it was not up to your expectations."
Latishe's eyes showed none of her former spirit...only a black void.

Pylia winced slightly, but she was not about to lose what ground she gained. She smiled to Latishe warmly, her voice as soothing as possible. "Did I tell you of the time my mother invited a few of her fellow sorceresses for tea? My middle brother, Balan..." Py whispered as if telling a secret. "he is the wild child you know, even more so than me. Well, he knew I was dreading sitting there for hours as my mother gossiped." Py smiled from Latishe , then to Maeve and finally to Chia.
"Balan gets it into his head that I need company, so he sent in his pet ferret. Now in his defense, it was but a baby at the time...quite small. He did assume it would go unnoticed and just keep me company under the table. What he didn't count on was one of momma's friends dropping her napkin and bending down to retrieve it....and be faced with the beady eyes of what she assumed was a rodent."
Py's eyes gleamed with mischief as she continued the tale. 'Next we knew the table was overturned, with tea and cakes flying everywhere. " Her voice now carried her amusement. "Why the ladies invited all ended up with more on them than in them, and my mother was utterly mortified. And there is me and Balan, collapsing into giggles at the sight."
Pylia looked at Latishe, her gaze soft. "Needless to say, when mother had her next tea, I was not invited and Balan was locked in his room." She gave the noblewoman a warm smile. "Compared to that my dear, one uninvited tiefling dropping in and causing a scene is really quite tame. Please...do not let it spoil the day."

Maeve smiled to Pylia, brushing a strand of her ashen hair behind an oddly shaped ear. Pylia's voice was soft and music like, soothing her irritation and causing her spirits to rise. Her voice was kind as she spoke in reply.
"We have in this room, four people of very different backgrounds and obviously opinions. I'm still not sure what happened back there between Chia and Latishe but Pylia has a point. We should lay aside our differences even for just a little while," Her lips moved into a warm smile.
"As I said, I came here in peace with an offer a friendship, and that offer still stands. We should put our grievances aside and enjoy this beautiful day and the beautiful tea Latishe has planned for us. Tharon, Brintha and Teshalia be willing, we are all adults here."
She looked in turn to all three woman, a warm and charismatic expression on her face, she then chuckled lightly.
"I can just see those Elvish women covered in tea and cakes..."
She turns and offers both Chia and Latishe a reassuring look accompanied with a warm smile.
