Finknjuhndrfesders!

You know , I can’t go to the Zoo and look at a Tiger in a cage without tears rolling down my cheek ; if you are trying to lie to your self then it’s best to stay away from life’s little reminders …

True.

Well.. I think it is always better to be emotional about it than to hide from it.

I'm just happy that the zoo here (Columbus Zoo and Aquarium run by our Director Emeritus Jack Hanna).. works very hard to expand the areas for the animals into something comfortable for them. They just got done doing an "Asia Quest" area which features a tiger I believe, but it does make me rather emotional myself when I see some of these animals (the cats especially) in small cages. When you see some of the 'paths', it really bothers me.

Being emotional is a blessing of life. Anyone who can't cry once in a while, well, I'd be worried about them.

At our zoo I can't ever find the tigers. I'm told they are in there...

Hmm a bright side... at least they aren't being shot at by poachers in the zoo.

wow what a HUGE issue. The zoo makes me sad indeed.

Ever seen a King Cheetah up close and look in its eyes? OMG

I work at a nature preserve and have the joy and privelage of observing animals in their own habitat, but ask yourself this:

If the King Cheetah, (captive to a traveling big cats show that stops by my UNI every year), wasnt there for me to see that day. Would I have had such an amazing look into the most prestigous cat's eyes? And would I value the cat's life as much as i do now so that i feel inclined to let all cats live free and at home?

Perhaps the animals that are rescued or raised in captivity give rise to awareness that benefits the animal race as a whole. Or maybe putting animals in cages is just wrong and GOd will smite all Zoos. I havent decided for myself just yet, though i am leaning towards the smiting all zoos side of things.

Emotions are what make us what we are: deadly animals  . Caged deadly animals  .

Hey I have emotions! I have painted finger nails, black hair, slit my wrists, and write on my live journal at least twice a day.

That's the only way someone can demonstrate they have emotions right?

Is that gnomish?

Well, playing Devil's advocate: what is the net effect on an animal living in a cage and being denied their freedom to range vs. being fed, cleaned and given healthcare for life? I would well believe that many researchers have tried to answer that question.

No , their not being shot , their spirit is being slowly boiled into submission . We have a programme here in England , I forget the name , but it it’s a sort of reality tv show about a safari park where they promote their good intentions to keep the animals wild ... They even “simulate the hunt” by driving along in their alien land rovers throwing butchered meat out the back so the Tigers have to run after it and so called “hunt” their prey … Bollocks every word of it , looks like I’m not the only one trying to lie to my self . Fact of the matter is the Tigers slowly plod along after the vehicle apathetically picking up the meat prepared for them by man , and stroll off to eat it at their leisure . I say let a Gazelle run from one end of the enclosure to the other , if it makes it then score one for the Gazelle and the Tigers go hungry ..

And when the Tigers are sick what do they do ? ; they put their medication in their meat and ‘hand’ feet it to them .. At the end of the day one of the most wild and beautiful creatures on earth are being domesticated , and I for one think it is disgusting ..

I have seen tape of a Tiger running up a tree and trying to attack the helicopter that was filming it .. A helicopter by the many and various gods ! ; A huge metal object never seen before that is flying through the sky with great huge whirling blades whipping around and sending the air whooshing about violently in all directions , and the Tiger didn’t give a toss ! , the helicopter was in it’s territory and by hells teeth the Tiger was going to have a go at handing it it’s arse ! .. These are creatures that if left alone naturally have ‘no’ fear of the unknown and fear of the unknown is without doubt the most feared thing known to ‘life’ ..

Nah matey , just had a bad day an’ I’m sick and tired of caging my inner Tiger for the sake of the people that love me .. I still get amazed when confronted with new peoples opinions of me these days . Perhaps the problem is I don’t have a good outlet for such things these days .. I haven’t even started a rogue in Das II yet , and pretending in Das I was just as good as living it for me back then , it really helped me . Loki has a girlfriend now and that takes up most of his time .. It’s like Bambi all over again .. Just wouldn’t feel the same without him .. Once you hit perfection you don’t expect lightning to strike twice in the same place . Especially without your better half and I think we can all agree that he was exactly just that …

Our local Zoo is quite pitiful and you can't help but be depressed leaving the place. All the animals have tini tiny areas to live in during the day the elephants hardly have enough room to turn around. It's like visiting the psych ward for depression of the animal kingdom. Except the monkeys they still seem to have fun and have a fairly large area.

That would be awesome. Unfortunately, the same people who say it's not nice to put the tiger in the zoo are usually the same ones who would say it's "cruel" and a "spectacle" to have the Tigers actually friggin' chase food down.

You know I would like to open all the cages and let them free .. See if the keepers have the same self deluded opinion after that .

Oh ! , no , what I really wanna do is go Russia in the middle of the night and free all the dancing bears , you know the ones , they are made to perform for the pleasure of the sick and twisted general public .. They are treated so badly most of them went round the nutty fruit loop mad years ago .. See how they feel about treating them like that during the after math of that following blood bath .

Perhaps a few parents will even teach their children “don’t torture Gia’s creations because if they ever get the upper hand and given half a chance they will butcher every last one of us” … If only one child hears those words it would of all been well worth it .
