i personally tend to build weaknesses into my characters and while it keeps them from being solo-powerhouses i don't regret it because in a party with good RP they are loads of fun. :D

To be honest i would refuse to like somebody or believe him just because of a failed dice roll. Thats something that just doesn't work vs. PCs in my oppinion. Charisma has to do with the interaction between players, not game mechanics. It is one of the few things you can really RP without using dices. Though i must admit that you have a problem when you are a..hole in RL. But then poiting at your high CHR and saying "look, i am a nice guy" wouldn'twork anyway.

So usually just keep it at 10. Thats high enough to give me the feeling i am no powergamer ;)

Hey, don't feel bad, I did the same thing with Elysa. I would just feel dirty if I made Elysa's charisma a dumpstat

Low CHA doesn't mean ugly, comes across bad. Low CHA means you can't convince people, lead a crew or command an army. At least not by sheer force of will and words.

Someone with a Low CHA is that guy (everyone has one) who talks alot but noone really listens to. And has a hard time getting people to do the things he wants to do, even if it's the best thing to do.

However it -can- mean ugly or comes across bad. CHA is one of those stats that can mean many different things. I prefer to pick a character flaw of somekind to represent a lower charisma. I mean a character can be polite, but if he looks like a troll and smells worse then it represents his low cha. A character likewise could be reasonably handsome, but if he is rude/arrogant etc. then again it represents his lower charisma.

Here's to making CHA 8 whores, with the inner beauty akin to Cuthulu.

I burned plenty of points on CHA with my main so that he could be political. So why won't anyone listen to him!?!?!?

Because your real life dump stat is charisma. People can't roleplay the personality stats they dont have. it's the same reason I dont roleplay clerics or druids

Maybe WE are the only sane ones. Would make sense that the two people from Cali would be the most coherant though. Plus there is plenty of evidence that everyone else is off their rockers.

charisma score

Post by KingOfSweden »

It's cool that you like to RP someone with high charisma, but just because you took points in charisma, it doesn't make you some RP demi god. People are praising you for doing this, and, not that this is wrong, but you can RP with low charisma, as well. Vincent has low charisma, and is generally a jerk to those few who have talked to him (I've only played a few days now).

Him: "Hey, my name is "blah!"
Me: *standing next to a rubbish bin, doing nothing* "Shut up and go away, I'm busy."

Charisma isn't your RP score, I'm trying to say. Just because you have points, doesn't mean you do it. It isn't a personality score (like, whether or not you have a personality), but a score of whether the way you present yourself is well received.

But.

If you do RP it, then great. You're handsome, attractive in some exotic way, appealing to some, or a great drinking mate. (or, all four) Go you.
