Hang on a minute govner does that mean we have to buy the expansion or will you "tweak it" so we don't have to?

So all in I will have paid out £60+ to solely play Das 2 because I have no interest in playing the OC, Don't get me wrong Das II is worth it IMO but the money I am paying should be going to you and the rest of the Dev Team not transition crashing Obisidion. I know a few other members of the Das community have done the same so I'm not the only one who would rather be paying the Das Dev Team than Obsidion.

The addons for NWN are usualy a bit cheaper than the original game. Amazon Germany lists NWN2 for 44€ and Mask of the Betrayer fot 27€-. Not for free but OK for an addon if you ask me.
Using an expansion has nothing to do with epic levels or at doesn't have to: new classes, items, tilesets, feats,.... Nothing wrong with that. Well, the NWN1 expansions brought a few spells that changed the ballance. but i think that most of them or maybe even all all already part of NWN2.
I think it was possible to run a server with the addons with a module that didn't require the addon so that people without it could still play while the ones witht the expansions already had access to the new stuff (classes, feats, spells, maybe even new character heads)
So if you ask me i would say: go for it. but there is no need to hurry till you actually have content that uses the extension.

Wasn't that a CEP feature?Wumpus Slayer wrote:Bring on the Miniature Giant Space Hamsters!!!
Either way, I would be surprised if patches that were post the OC expansion didn't require players to own a copy of said expansion.
Bioware may have been willing to make the effort to do something like that (aka not require an expansion for future patches) but I kinda doubt Obsidian would. Last time I looked, both Obsidian and Atari were still circling the drain. Income and financial stability has got to be their main focus, whether we the players like it or not. *shrug*
Personally, I am hesitant to buy another product from Obsidian.

Actually, the Miniature Giant Space Hamsters were a reference to the Baldur's Gate series. There was a companion NPC named Minsc who had a pet hamster, Boo, that he claimed was really a miniature giant space hamster. (See my forum avatar to the left for a picture of them.) Minsc and Boo came from Rashemon. Guess where the NWN2 expansion takes place...

Minsc and Boo are two awesome characters from the classic days of computer roleplaying games.Wumpus Slayer wrote:Actually, the Miniature Giant Space Hamsters were a reference to the Baldur's Gate series. My two cents....
I think as far as balance issues are concerned, NWN2's XP will be a lot better than NWN. Bioware was very clear about Neverwinter Nights being single-player oriented, they stated numerous times that multiplayer content was strictly back-burner. However, Obsidian said as many times even prior to release that they were going in a different direction, offering equal upkeep to both ends of the spectrum. So I do not expect the XP to be as game-breaking as SoU and HotU were, with crap like Dev Crit and Dwarven Defender.
