I have finished compiling all of the Background, Deity, and OOC information into a large document with a table of contents, page numbers, and map. It was compiled with Adobe InDesign CS2 and I am currently in the process of having my web-designer upload the PDF for all you guys to have. I hope it happens soon but may have to wait a week or so b/c of work IRL. The PDF is searchable because InDesign preserves the text attributes of the stuff i pasted in there so REJOICE!!

So coming soon: The Dasarian Handbook

btw: it is GREAT to have it on paper in front of you when writing stories and backgrounds. I hope this will make it easier and more fun for players to write themselves into the main campaign. The template is easily updateable as well, and the handbook will evolve with the server.

Ah, another who understands that Adobe has far superior software.
Being a graphic designer I only work in Adobe programs and Quark.
When clients send me stuff in Word I just shake my head.

Please note that Min's acceptance of it as "true" does not mean the DMs accept it to be.

Also note that it still needs major proofing...

From what I've been told, and a DM may correct me if wrong. Unless a DM feels the need to step in and otherwise correct the lore(Stating that it is in conflict with other lore, or not applicable), it is assumed to be correct. This has been the case with most, if not all, of the other stories/lore I have contributed or written and don't see why there would be any reason otherwise.

I would therefore expect it to be treated as such, as I simply do not spend my time writing Lore-Conflicting "Campaign Untrue" statements and leave them up for such a long time if players can passingly claim "It hasn't had a stamp of approval yet".

While I do think there is a definite line to be drawn between "Campaign Background", and Simple Lore for a faction - I think it is merely point of view which seperates them. The Lochwarian Faction considers ANY and ALL information thus far posted to be considered FACT. I have passed most if not all of my ideas by the DM's, and have always never had a problem stepping back/correcting what they felt has been a problem with the vision of Dasaria.

So in regards to what Pere said. I do not post "untrue" things, considering MOST of what I write has at least had a concept thrown by a DM. Anything that slips through the cracks, usually gets picked up by our careful editors of all things Not to their liking, and the DM's. I think the rest of the faction would speak up in saying I don't think we promote, produce, or contribute to Lore-conflicting information purposely or frequently.

I should have not been so specific, but I was way to tired to be posting last night and did not mean to sound so harsh as I did.

It is my opinion that a handbook probably should not include any detailed information on player-factions and on player lore, regardless of how much it jives with the DM's opinions. This is mostly because such lore can change quickly and without warning, or the DMs could step in and change it on a whim, while they are less liable to retcon things they themselves created.

Now, there are things I would suggest you take from the wiki over the forums. Anything that has been cross posted onto the wiki from the forums is likely to be a little, cleaner... In other words little grammar and spelling errors that the writers and DM staff missed have been corrected (no offense to the DM staff meant).
