As long as there is an IC reason for the assassination, I have no problem with it.

I'm all for being assassinated, though ONLY if my character is turned hostile before hand. It's extremely unrealistic to have to waste three rounds fighting with the interface just so I can cast a freaking spell at you.

I don't personally require a warning other than being set to hostile, so you can set me hostile and attack immediately and still surprise me.
Characters: Soltis, Garrett, and William of Aucklorn.

A player attacking another player should have them marked hostile first.

That's not a license to run amok, but consider it good etiquette.

I really need to learn more about the dice rolling tools but I am considering dex/intimdation/constitution rolls to play a larger roll in the area of assassination rather than a simple duel to the death that results in unnecessary penalties to either party. Let me submit an example:

Assassin bumps victim while around town or what have you. Dex rolls are compared to see if the victim noticed the odd movement of the assassin as they move away. If they do, then the poison dart the assassin had intended to use is lodged in the armour or clothing of the victim and has no affect. If the assassin makes the roll, then the victim rolls for constitution against the poison, falling prone via emotes if failed or then persuing the assassin or what have you depending on the imaginings of the participatants.

The hostile idea for the blood thirsty is a very good idea in that it eliminates the back and forth of PMs and keeps the interaction in game. I also like the Tells noted before such as "you feel a hot breath at your neck as someone behind you speaks, "Your life is forfeit. Prepare for the next."

Due to the nature of the mechanics of the game we would like to eliminate possible penaties and hard feelings. It has always been the desire of this group to add a roleplay element that seems to be missing which is why the feedback of the community is so important to us. We make careful note and try to be aware of any players who do not wish to be exposed to this type of experience. Please feel free to PM the Black Hand Enclave if you do not wish to experience any form of this type of roleplay.

Alright! I could get into this type of stuff.

see now, my assaisan is more a free spirit...Does as he pleases.I realize he will be eos at some point, and we had soem great RP the other day including minuvus and some guards....But he is more for going for the sky as it were.....he is not so much a contract killer although im sure if the price is right he could be persuated to do so....

Although your supposed to have a contract or w.e what is the stance in IG reasons? could the IG reason be that the assaisan does not liek the way the government or church is running the show and decides to take manners into his own hands, leathal hands that is?...

Will i be banned for such a matteR?...

Anywho....im up for assaisans obviously.....but keep it clean no running around killing whoever you see fit moreso a planned out sting...

(PS: the other day i was practacing to see the level of RP you guys were on for sneaky killers and ya passed :p i explained it to most who did not sign off for reasons of personal matters.....

Thanks again!)

Unless I'm mistaken, if you set someone hostile and then pass near them (i.e. bump up against them), the AI is likely to take an attack against you without user intervention. I don't recall the exact context but I remember accidentally one-shotting a low level character once because of this. This should probably be tested.

That would be an attack of opportunity.

This would be a very much like PnP roleplay until there was a failure on the assassin's part via rolls for success. I would expect that at that point the victim would go hostile. The assassin should not initiate hostile action in this type of scenario, giving the victim to take him by suprise due to his failure. Generally an assassination attempt is a sneaky thing and requires feedback from players involved to make the character interaction come to life.
