Need a bit of Dwarven advice please
Hail Dasarians
I already have a warlock with no clue how I am building him or where I am going to take him which is both fun and frustrating at the same time but I have been asked to make a wee little dwarf by players that seem to take Dwarves and other little classes seriously. Except for watching the films Lord Of the Rings I have no clue about dwarves except from Subal who unfortunatly left the server months ago. Also I have an inkling that if I called my dwarf Gimly I would probably be banned from the server.
So any Dasarians with Dwarven experience who would spare sometime to help provide some info to someone as dwarvenclueless as me that would be great.
Thanks

Ahhh, another one who got infected by the Dwarven-fever. No idea really what I can tell you about dwarves apart from this:
If you plan on taking dwarven defender, start with dex 13 (minimum) and be lawful-something. Both are requirements for this class.
Ohh, and don't name him Khelgar as well

Let me remind you that the varanite pantheon is pretty much another version of the dasarian, though with less two or three gods, different names and slightly different lore. So having to adapt to the new pantheon decades ago was most likely not a big deal for all races except for those who worshipped the gods outlawed by Varana.stoned-raider wrote:Another important question comes to my mind:
Do the dwarves share the Varanite Pantheon? The views, especially on the outlawed deities? And if yes, which god would match a dwarf?
And yeah, from what I've seen, dwarves do share the varanite Pantheon, at least those who live in Cear claim so. Brintha, I would assume, would be the deity most dwarves worship since dwarves are known for their passion for crafting and mining and Brintha is the "Mistress of the Deep Earth and Stone, Matron of Craft and Mining" afterall. Also, dwarves believe Brintha to be a dwarven-looking deity herself and as to go as far to influence their faith in order for it to relate more to them, that'd mean Brintha would be quite popular among the dwarven folk.
As for their views on the outlawed gods, I think (and that's me really only assuming...) that as any other race who lives under the varanite flag in this generation, they'd regard them as false... but dwarves would not despise or fear them, though that's more to do with an individual's character. But we all know how alike and stubborn dwarves are. Anyways, these today forbidden deities were part of their dwarven culture in Das 1 and I'd bet a boot dwarves would regard their history highly...
If there was any.

Just give him a manly name like Tobir Stoutbeard or Modir Aleax or Berin Beerheart or something, drink lotsa beer and act like you were a bit drunk all the time (you know, be a happy one with dirty jokes. Don't forget to laugh at your own jokes even if no-one else does). Those'll make a perfect dwarf.
And you could worship things like Inneania, Tharon and ofcourse your beard and axe. And beer. And don't forget the beard. Or the beer.
Look, just drink beer and don't shave and you'll be fine.

oh, and
Female Dwarf = Male Dwarf - Beard.
If you make a female dwarf give her a strong manly voice and a name fit for a fat and mighty peasant matron, like Ella Stoutsmile or Tennia Toothless or Pulye Pissdrunk or something like that.
And everything else said about male dwarves also applies, like dirty jokes, drinking beer and stuff.

If that's the case, then I think we can all agree that Explorer is already an expert.blackheart wrote:From what I can tell, beer seems to be involved somehow.
