House in the middle of town

Post by Jamin H »

*A piece of torn parchment, ruffled and blooded is seen nailed to a tree just out side a house in the market district. The letter reads*

“Letter to whoever will heed this warning,

Now i dont know how much of what i have been told is true, but there have been rumours of a band of dark spirited men venturing from place to place within the city, seeking souls just as dark to walk among them. It is said that they contact you through a few servantsthey have, who deliver a note to you if they see fit. The servants do as they are told, no one knows if this is because of fear or if they are possessed or simply due to free will, but they all have the same hollow grey tint in their eyes.

I cant do much to convince those who read this, I myself thought it was simple lore, a story that died a long time ago, but I have seen more and more of these hollow eyes around Cear. If it was an old story why are there new faces? I ask myself this, and maybe you should too if you spot them. These dark faces, that want nothing more than to bring about some aincient evil. I dont know really, If im just losing my mind or simply fed my imagination too much. All i know is things just don’t feel right anymore, like there is always someone in the room, or behind me. Call me paranoid, call me crazy but I thought it’s worth warning a few souls of possible danger”

*Those who investigate the letter closely note that the writing doesn’t seem rushed and is thought out quite well. There is a line at the bottom of the Parchment*

“Even some rumours have some element of truth”

He was almost wraithlike, the shadowy form in a tattered black cloak stalked quickly through the alleys behind houses, vaulted over low walls, and pausing in front of a rickety wooden fence. He cast it a gaze before briefly looking up, the expected shadow over his upper face instead filtered by a faint blue lambency making the ivory skinned elf appear faintly bluish. From his cloak, he draw a spear that was surprisingly easily concealed by the form and pressed the butt between the planks, prying it apart and squeezing through. Why they put that there is a mystery in and of itself. He thought before pulling the spear through. After reaching back into his cloak to put the spear back, he caught the corner of a piece of paper nailed to a tree in the edge of his vision.

You called me for this? He thought, walking past the tree and casually reading it over, almost slack-jawed at the sheer thought of something so idiotic sounding being true. Apes... will believe anything. He thought, at least until he noticed the arrangement of the grey splotches were blood, and not ink. There's truth to this nightsoil after all. He thought, looking it over a few times before pausing, and dropping everything he was doing to actually contemplate this letter.

*Justian Sayne walks through the market district and notices a man looking intently at the note pinned to a tree, without looking at the note, he says:*

Rubbish aint it? To think that there could be a group of dark spirits running around Cear? Ha!

*He then smiles to the man and carries on walking, pulling a black hood with a brown trim along the side over his head*.

"There's truth to these words..." The figure grinned. "Can't you see it?" He followed this with an almost sinister chuckle as Justian walked away. I see more than you will ever know. He went back to the silent contemplation, half-tempted to tear it from the tree, but instead deciding to take out a piece of velium parchment and write everything down, going so far as copying the handwriting in order to investigate further.

I'll see if the scribes know of anyone who has this handwriting... track him... and find out more.
