Post by Mbrat2 »

So yeah I just got the game and it's updating. I use the search function and there alot of stuff I just dont understand. So im looking for some things that will help me get started. Im more of a multiplayer style gaming kind of person. And i know alot about roleplaying ive done it for about 4 years so no need for info on that. I really just dont know where to start...any usefull tips or websites would help... thank you.

Are you looking for NWN2 help or Dasaria specific help? I'm new to Das 2 myself, but I love computer games and I tend to play with everything. All I can tell you for Dasaria is read around on the forums. I'm doing that myself now. If you're more intent on jumping in, I'd still recommend reading the campaign history. It's not terrible long. After that, just wander around in game and talk to some of the NPCs. This player world is pretty good about making quests obvious, even if NWN doesn't have little WoW ( ! ) quest markers. There's at least one quest to get you going right in the inn you'll be starting in.

For classes, spells, feats and the like the best place to look is the nwn2 wiki. (( nwn2.wikia.com )) There are also character builds listed there, but I think they're all for level 30 while Das has a level 20 cap. That isn't really a bad thing though since player worlds tend to be fairly hard, and higher level player worlds can almost demand min-maxing your character. If you just want to play and RP on the server go over the classes and look at the types of things they get and maybe find a prestige class that that draws your interest. If you're terribly worried about having a perfect character you'll probably need a little experience playing the game before you can make your own builds. Single player is great if you want level a character up real fast to make sure your build actually works. You can use the console to give a character XP, and I sometimes use that to make sure I haven't forgotten any prerequisites my character needs and that they can actually take all the pretty feats and powers I've decided on.

Do you have anything more specific you need to know?

I was a totally noob when I started Das 2 two years ago and only enjoy multiplayer "social" games.

Since you already know about Rping my best advice for you just to get started ingame is pick a human fightertype to begin with pop ingame and walk around abit interacting with NPC's and other characters. Also once you get out of the Inn you start in don't go to far North out of the gates.

There are a lot of new players around lately, so poke around the forums and read some of their threads, like this one:

Other than that, just jump in and start having fun. Don't worry too much about races and classes, etc., as you'll probably make multiple characters over time and you'll figure things out as you go along. That said, Human is always a good choice for race.

Welcome!
Characters: Soltis, Garrett, and William of Aucklorn.

Forgive, Oh Lord, my little jokes on thee
And I'll forgive thy great big one on me.
