From the pulpit.
...

Father Marrent Continues:
I ask myself -
Must I remind you oh, mortal men and women of the flesh, that we live in exeptional times. Death lures around every corner. Peralia cares for those worthy a noble one. And Lochwar will strike down with swift retribution for those who have fallen for the righteous cause. But those who fail to support us will never be avenged - their names forgotten by the living and forever doomed to eternal damnation!
Where are those faithful ready to make sacrifice? I ask myself - where are those who are willing to recieve Lochwars blessing!?!

From the weekly sermon:

Trust in that Lochwar sends his Retribution on those who opposes his chosen people. Trust in that no soul escapes his scrutinising gaze and painful vengeance. Those who in this week offended our temple and our faith – gestures toward a woman standing next to him with her head bowed. She is bruised and her posture indicates heavy injuries, her face reveals a swollen lip and a black eye. Amongst other. Sister Trissta stood faithful while the blaspehmical act whirled around her. Oh, how low of our enemies to assault innocent women with deadly force. Marrent shakes his head. You know who I speak of, you know what they did. Do not think for one moment that Lochwar did not notice you. Never! Ever! Question the Church my children or in the end you will have to pay the ultimate price.
…

But fear not – our temple grows even stronger by our enemy’s vain efforts to discredit us. Exemplar Plessi, a tall man in a dark armour approaches and kneels in front of the Alter. By the power invested in me by the Hierarchy to lead and uphold this temple I hereby grant you the Rank of Regent of the Exemplar order. Yours is the command of the Exemplars of our temple. Arise Regent and assume your new command as Regent of this temple!
The crowd rises to honour the new Regent and and hymns in Chorus : Hail the Exemplars, hail Regent Plessi - Praise Lochwar - His will be done! Amen!

Father Marrent preaches from his pulpit. Today he takes extra care of making sure everyone can feel the danger of war just around the corner. Beofre his sermon he hesitates, looking at a scroll he has put on the alter. Those with a nose for details notice a nervous tone to his voice as he starts.

For let it be known that those who follow the false prophet will never stop, not for any man. But we can still prevail, turning to our Gods asking for their help! This is not something that can be solved with mortal steel, or petty mortal magic’s. He waves his hand as if removing an irritating bug. Be true and our Lords will make it possible for us to save our selves but not without true faith! Father Marrent takes a deep breath then continues with an intense secure voice: And thus the Prince lays dead, the Priesthood of Lochwar stood ready to die beside him. Were it not for the light they would have fallen, but faith led their saviour, faith and devotion to defeat our enemy. Blessed be their joint cause We have a common Enemy! Amen

The temple in Thralls gate is full with people from all over the Peninsula. The harvest of blood is celebrated. All those who once wished for vengeance, be it to get back at the cheating husband or avenge a murdered relative, the temple is always filled with people grateful to Lochwar at this time.

Father Marrent is pleased as the many visitors leave gifts and gives prayer to the Dark Lord. Exemplar knights are lined up in shining armours, watching and observing.

As the ritual of vengeance is concluded Father Marrent turns to the crowd.

"Citizens of the Empire. Faithful. Know that Lochwar smiles upon you for furthering his cause! Lochwar is growing stronger by the day and our temple is proud to declare itself a centerpoint of worship from all over the Peninsula! I know many of you seek a higher purpose. That you have a devotion within you. Do not be afraid! Come to me – pledge fealty to the Church and join us. You can all find a place to serve our temple!"

…

The temple is unusually full of people, rumours about a large ship arrived with some kind of Lochwar authority has caused curious and faithful alike to travel the extra mile to spend their time of prayer in the Temple in Thralls gate. Father Arghivius does not hesitate to take the opportunity to address them from the pulpit:

"People of the province! The time has come not to falter anymore! For the signs are clear! The Gods are not pleased with you! For too long have you ignored the true path to salvation! For too long have you allowed the sins to go on. For too long have you failed in honouring the very King of gods himself! And for this – you will be punished - and trust me. The greatest punishment comes from the Lord of Retribution. It will not be swift, it will not be painless, it will come in the form of unparalleled horror and anguish! To ignore the true path, is to invite the false prophet on to your own doorstep."

"Repent! Return to the bosom of the all mighty Lochwar! Return and pledge your faith to Him! The time is no longer to falter in faith. Praise him and you might be saved from yourselves! Our temple stands with the grace of eternal wisdom and insight. Come and pray! Encourage those who hide and shy way to come forth! It is time we rose up together, under the true banner. This temple will lead you to the true path! Come!
Amen!"

*Father Arghivius pauses for a few minutes letting the crowd ponder his words as well as conducting small prayers on their own.
He then produces a scroll and reads the weekly announcements:*

Hear this, for Lochwar has given our temple even further blessings. Admitant Gryffon has undergone the rite of Blood and is now a member of the Order of the Exemplar, serving at the first rank of Novitiate under the command of the honourable Regent Plessi. May your blade be swift in retribution Exemplar. Lochwar bless you at all times." *Father Arghivius eyes rests on an armoured man standing guard at the front door during the entire sermon*. "Any Exemplar is to be honoured and awed for they are the embodiment of a true warrior!"

"We also, welcome our newest member - Admitant Ar-Lomar." *Marrent nods toward a spot in the crowd, a murmur spreads across the room as a dark skinned Cuhannan raises in the crowd*.

Father Arghivius puts down his scroll ignoring the mumble. "New times are coming. For those wise enough to step aboard our ship – the future will hold splendour and greatness. Our temple welcome you all to its servitude, you can all contribute to our cause, one way or another. Never doubt that."

We will now proceed with the collection... * neophytes starts to move around in the crowd offering blessings and recieving gifts*

Father Arghivius watches the crowd for a while, nodding politely to those who seek his eye. He then turns and leaves early accompanied by a cleric wearing fine robes of the high order of Lochwar. Arghivius bows to the man as they enter the temples private areas constantly under heavy protection from his closest followers.

Father Arghivius enters the courtyard of the temple. Construction workers climb the roof tops overlooking the Exemplar training field that has stood empty for so long, now a formation of Exemplars demonstrate their discipline for the head of temple security, Regent Plessi.

Father Arghivius watches the training for a moment then approaches the Regent catching his attention with a small cough.

The Regent Immediately turns around with a salute ready. "Easy, Regent. I am impressed with your work here. It fills me with a sense of security that you will be in charge of these new men, under the coadjutor of course." The Priest motions toward the temple as if speaking of someone inside it.

"You should perhaps start considering finding a suitable second in command Regent. Times are changing and we all need to step up, sooner then one might think" *a secretive grin spread across the Priests face.* "I would say Exemplar Griffon is a fine soldier. Would you not agree?" *He looks at one of the Exemplars currently practising archery*
"But the choice is of course yours Regent." The Priest continues to observe the Exemplars exercise with the Regent standing at his side.

The door to the temple swings open easily on well greased hinges and the falling light from the sunset silhouettes a slight figure standing in the door way. A sigh escapes from the figure as he enters the temples proper with his rapier slapping against his thigh and a colorful feather decorating a rich velvet hat that seems somehow mismatched with the old Naval officers uniform he wears. A hesitant smile crosses his face raising the hairs of a carefully groomed mustache as he approaches Sister Tristan as she awaits at her station near the temples entrance. "I hope Lochwar's blessing continues to fall upon you Sister." he greets somewhat formally while his eyes sadly fall toward the floor and a brief expression of grief and desperation crosses his face. "If I could speak to father Marrent I would appreciated it. I will wait near the altar while I make my donation." The man turned and began to walk slowly towards the far end of the temple.

"Reginald isn't it?" Sister Tristan questioned. "I will need your name to see if Father Marrent can fit you into his already busy schedule this evening."

The man paused and turned back towards Sister Tristan. "Yes, my name is Reginald Schudotter formerly of Cana. I understand that he might be busy and that I why I am willing to wait while I pay tribute at the altar." He bowed slightly before turning back to head towards the altar.

Sister Tristan snapped her fingers at a nearby acolyte who trotted off to the back chambers.

Reginald Schudotter is given a rather long time to conduct his prayers before a neophyte finally approaches the Alter and waits for the prayer to end. Afterwards she silently inclines her head:

"Father Arghivius will see you now, this way if you please." She motions toward the back room of the temple and escorts the visitor to see the priest.

Reginald left the back rooms with his head help up high and his stride strong and purposeful. His hand rested on the hilt of his rapier and he nodded pleasantly to the neophytes as he passed by. For the first time since arriving in Cear he felt he had a purpose and that there was a reason behind what had befallen him.

Father Arghivius preaches from the pulpit.

Citizens of the Empire. You must understand that we are all part of a greater body! Each one of us with our very special purpose. Some are of lesser importance but even they must accept their place. The horrors that have caused your homes to feel unsafe and your loved ones to tremble as night comes are your own faults!

In disrespect and disloyalty towards the Holy Church of Lochwar you have let this come to your own doorstep. Do not blame others; it is you who bears responsibility for not supporting the true path! Why did you not put those extra coins in the collection? Why did you not inform our temple of that person you saw skulking around Thralls gate. Anyone can be the enemy, have you witnessed something strange with your neighbour? Are you sure your fellow colleague does a fair and honest job? Do not let leisure com upon us in this dark time. We need the strength and discipline of an Iron fist. Stand united with us against the lesser, those who suck the very blood life away from our veins.

The Priest takes a brief pause and lets his gaze fall upon the temple guards posted around the interior during the mass. After a while he continues.

This week a special prayer goes out to those who work to further our cause. Bless their body and souls, for they strive for perfection not only for themselves, but for the Empire as a whole!

Only the few amongst us will prove worthy to lead and serve close to him!

This week, Admittant Belor as undergone the rite of Admittance – may Lochwar guide his way.

And to my great pleasure I will also announce that former Admittant Greyana has undergone the rite of Blood and is now accepted into the Maidens of the Mace. May your judgement be swift and fair Maiden.

Our Great Temple devoted to the King of gods –seek more souls that are devoted to the cause to bear the ways of Lochwar and to support the Great Empire in its struggle to create order amongst chaos! I know you can feel His touch. Do not falter, admit your faith and destiny – come forward and see if you too are worthy a place within his inner circle.

To celebrate the rebirth of the Heir, the temple of Lochwar in thralls gate throws a grand sermon to the Heirs honour.

Father Arghivius adressess the flock from his pulpit.

It is truly a joyous day when we again can rely on our great Princeps, the Heir to the Imperial throne to walk amongst us and protect us these dark times! It is by the hand of Lochwar that he could have accomplished such a grand feat. The priesthood of your Lord has foreseen this and prayed for it to happen since the dark news of his passing away came upon us. And now we bring you the glorious news!
The Lord of Gods watches over those who protect his chosen people!

Arise and celebrate good citizens of the Empire! This is a joyous day!

Lochwar Eternal! Varana Eternal!

*Father Arghivius preaches with a booming voice from his pulpit in the temple*

"As for the righteous wrath of our Tyrant and beloved Emperor, Marcus the fourth of Varana – Enemies – Tremble! For thou haseth committed the gravest of mistakes by crossing the chosen son of Lochwar, Master or plots, Tyranny and Retribution. His burning gaze will find and root out those who crossed his path and our recent rise of the one thought to have fallen walks yet again. Praise Lochwar and his chosen people, for the true will emerge victorious.

Lochwar Eternal! Amen."

*Father Arghivius lowers his tone and produces the scroll with the weekly announcements. *

Let it be known that we our Exemplar Order grows in strength. The forgotten has returned. Exemplar Kale stands amongst you once more and his sword will protect us yet again. A dangerous quest to protect us all from the ignorant heretics kept him from us for to long. But by being patient and staying firm in faith he to was granted Revenge – as will all who serve the Lord of Gods. *the priests makes a dramatic pause making sure the meaning of that is understood* "Exemplar Kale will be put under the command the newly appointed Regent Griffon."

"Exemplar Griffon has served us with excellence! His sword and wit has given the good citizens of the peninsula much safety over the months. Never forget those who guards in silence ever ready to stand sacrifice. For his faithful service Exemplar Griffon is raised to Regent and put in charge of the security of our clergy. Lochwar bless the Exemplar Order for their truthful service to our temple."

*The priests make a brief halt and quickly eyes the scroll in front of him*

"This week the citizen known as Farmer has given our temple a handsome collect and for this the temple neophytes will pray for his cause during the span of an entire month to come.
Let it be a reminder to those who doubt their own talent – there are many ways to support our Holy Mother Church."

*The priests neatly folds the scroll and turns to the crowd with a pleasant smile.*

"And now, the neophytes will accept whatever donations, you yourself deem appropriate to secure your own place within our prayers."
