Overheard at the Buck

"I still cant's believe it!" The man was older, and grissled, his hands roughly callused from a lifetime of hard work. He looked at the younger man and his hired woman, incredulous at the former and leering at the latter.

"Every word is true, from the horses mouth! The woman I hear'd it told from overhear'd it herself!"

"You mean to tell me that a blonde in armor with legs up to the yingyang, a man with an undead arm, one o' them wizards, and some other fella, just walked right into town to the blacksmith to buy something, proclaimin' they were servants of the Mistress!"

The old man lowered his voice "If that is true, young buck, what in Tharon's name is Pontius doing around here, eh?"

The young man matched the whispering tone, looking about the inn before speaking. "Near as I can tell, not a damn thing, grandad. Imagine, lettin' servants of Canas' generals right inta town, and no one does a damn thing"

The whispering stopped for a time, both men shaking heads slowly, the rumor playing against scenarios too dark to mention.

The pretty whore played with the younger man's earlobe, shooting the odd playful glance at the older man as well. This could be a lucrative night.
